Exactly why I wrote what I wrote (I dont know much about him). Central midfield doesnt seem to be a position we're lacking in and so far all targets seem to be more of the attacking midfielder profile, rather than a versatile central midfielder. Other targets we've been linked with appear to be far more prolific goalscorers (Sanchez for one), which is why it seems a bit of the blue.

It's a nothing Mirror article from ages ago, you aren't being linked with him.

Griezmann would be Spurs willy waving.

We have, off the top of my head, Lennon, Townsend, Lamela, holtby, chadli, Eriksen, falque. Buying griezmann would be adding a 9 out of 10 player to a bunch of 7 to 8 out of ten players.

Our right back if walker is injured is Kyle Naughton. Danny Rose is our back up LB. If Dawson goes, we have Kaboom, Vetonghen and Chiriches in central defence. Our back 4 needs help, not our attack.

Griezmann would also actually reduce Pochettino's options too. He would have to play Eriksen, Lamela, Griezmann. This would hugely limit his ability to experiment with the team. At the moment he will use Eriksen and Lamela and can use the extra place for width (Lennon/Townsend) or creativity (holtby) or a wide forward (chadli)

Frank Lampard off to New York City FC:

Frank Lampard is set to be confirmed as a New York City FC player at 3.30pm on Thursday.

A press conference has been called here in New York to unveil the MLS franchise's latest new signing, expected to be the ex-Chelsea man.

The event, which will take place at Brooklyn Bridge Park, will also include Lampard taking part in a coaching clinic with 40 local children.

"7 to 8 out of ten players."

Eriksen is the only player that would fall into that IMO and that's a push. I think personally you should be looking at a higher caliber of winger them Townsend, Lennon and Chadli if you want to get anywhere near the top 4. Griezman is a different level to anything you've got and should you have the opportunity to sign him then you most definitely should.

Spurs need some serious work for me, especially the defence. Lloris is a great keeper, Walker and Dawson are both average, Vertonghen is the best player in the premier league but a bit of a tool and Davies is solid, not sure Spurs have a lot past that.

Besic with someone in town outside the Hilton.

Lloris, Walker, Kaboul, Vert, Davis

That is a solid back 4. Any injuries and we are very very suspect.

Sell Chadli, buy Griezmann and Lovren. Job done.

lol, Walker can't defend and Kaboul is incredibly dodgy, he's all power, no control and not much brain. That is half a solid back four. At best I would say Kaboul/Walker to be back up. For one thing Kaboul is injury prone as hell.

06-07 season he managed 28 starts, he has only managed over 19 starts in the league in one out of 7 seasons since he left France. In 12/13 he played one game in the entire season.

If he was capable of staying fit he isn't good enough and he's not capable of staying fit. As with Vermaelen for us, regardless of quality, unreliable, unavailable backup is pretty much useless.

Spurs need a CB desperately, Dawson plays so much because Kaboul is never available and Dawson is poo.

Very little chance of Spurs getting Griezmann, if Monaco are interested it means higher wages, living in a much nicer place.

I agree with the higher wages part but not the rest. I'm pretty sure if a player was offered the same wages, they'd pick a "top" London team over Monaco. Whether Spurs are considered a big enough draw or not, I'm not sure. But the allure of the BPL is certainly greater than Ligue 1, it's usually just the transfer fee and wages side that's the stumbling block when compared to PSG and Monaco.
