I don't understand what is so daft about it? at the time as I have already explained, I didn't watch much football outside of the top 4 unless it was City playing said team so I didn't watch much of Suarez at all and I don't judge players purely on the goals they are getting etc.

At the time Dzeko and Balotelli were doing well for us and as any biased fan I will always say that they are better than Suarez. I have since admitted that Suarez is now better because he seriously picked up form I think and fired Liverpool into the top 4 but anyway I prefer Dzeko.

:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Okay, well you don't watch much football outside the top 4, so you clearly won't have watched much of Suarez at that point so to say the others are 'far and away' better when you don't actually watch him is a bit daft, also comparing records in a team that is actually good vs one that was garbage isn't that great of an idea.

You do seem to like Dzeko, although were happy to have him and others sold to fund Cavani and Falcao, its a pity you didn't sell him for Cavani :(

Also I'm taking it by no reply to the 'media darling' thing you accept what you said was dumb

I would be rather surprised if Welbeck is off instead of Hernandez. Welbeck has actually wormed his way into my affections over the past season or two. He may not be the best goalscorer ever but he works a lot for the team and he was sorely missed against Swansea. Hernandez offers nothing apart from a goal poacher. We have the goalscorers in RvP and Rooney so having someone like Welbeck as an alternative is very useful at times.

RvP won't be going for more that a couple more years as well so I don't see why Welbeck wouldn't stay and try and steal that place when the time comes / RvP gets injured.

Because for a striker he cant score for toffee lol

Probably only a loan anyway

Seen suggestions Cleverley may be off too (but as he was meant to be offered a new deal yesterday, these are both probably complete guesses by the journo's in question)

I hadn't, I already admitted that? and hows is that daft?

Did you watch every City match so that you can also say that Dzeko and Balotelli aren't "far and away better"?

I do like Dzeko but I also like Clichy, Would I not sell Clichy to replace him with a a better player? of course I would.

Yes I watched most City games that weren't kicking off at the same time as Liverpool (3pm games), still do.

Well you don't watch him, so you wouldn't know if they are 'far and away' better.

Evidently you wouldn't, you'd rather him to Ronaldo and Suarez who would apparently force you to stop supporting city

EDIT: Actually I wouldn't watch your non televised carling cup games, so there's that

there's a lot of noise that we're leading the race for di maria, so i'd assume if there's much weight behind it, that's why.

i expect chicho to be sold/loaned out too.

Ok that is fair enough.
This is a pointless debate, I have admitted that Suarez now is better but I would prefer Dzeko. At the time I made that comment as I have said I thought otherwise. Shoot me now.
Two years ago I also thought that Clichy was miles ahead of Kolarov, now Kolarov has become the better player....OMG!

lol, so because I don't like two players that makes my point null?
That comment was a bit tongue in cheek but I do dislike both of those players, would it stop me supporting City? Thankfully the club would never sign either player so it doesn't matter.

Leading the race? Aren't you the only team in for him at this stage? Where is he going to play - if u do sign him?

race, as in he will stay, psg will sell cavani/someone else to fund his purchase.

i have no idea how lvg would line us up. personally, i'd rather the money was spent on a cdm/cd.

Well you laughed at Lawro for changing his opinion over two years. Brendan's done well with players with attitude problems (or ones the media portray) albeit different attitude problems to what Mario seems to have, its not ridiculous to expect him to be able to get Mario playing for him but also not surprising if it just ends up being a hilarious mistake.

Well you said you would sell them for a better player but that kind of contradicts that you wouldn't for Ronaldo or Suarez just because you dislike them. Suarez I can understand, you want to appear politically correct and not immoral by having him on the team, I can't for the life of me understand why you would stop supporting if Ronaldo joined.
If Ronaldo was available the club would most certainly sign him, its more a case of they can't get him.

I laughed because it is his opinion on him as a person, not as a player. Lawrenson couldn't wait to slate Balotelli at City and now all of a sudden he is a changed man and is a good signing.
I have already said except Ronaldo and Suarez.
I just don't like him. End of. That not allowed?
No we wouldn't sign him, I can't guarantee and neither can you so let's leave it there?
Back to present day...

Sure its allowed,I just think its really stupid is all

Correct you wouldn't because you can't, if he was available though City would

EDIT The Lawro thing is his stupidity by the way, you might think we are 'media darlings' or he is pro liverpool, but he isn't, hes a **** and should **** off my tv

If Welbeck is going then we literally have no pace in attack. We'll need Di Maria, I'd be happy to see him in CM and then have the other midfielder sat behind him. He's a brilliant player.

set to make a £56mil bid for di maria, seems to keep going up but spending big is the only way we will get anywhere near the sort of players we need to change the team. But he isn't going to save our season.

Just to add, I am still here, reading. Didn't want to be accused of ducking away when things aren't going well but I really don't have anything to say.

My face is actually quite sore from all the palming it's getting regarding United's transfer strategy.

Regarding Balotelli - I think it's a big risk but for £16m it's well worth going for. I do think it's a case of when, rather than if, he has an idiocy outbreak. I just hope Liverpool get some good goals out of him before it happens.

We won't get Di Maria. He will remain at Madrid this year or go on loan to PSG. We are unlikely to sign anyone actually really good unless we want to spend way way over the odds for them. Teams won't want to lose their best players a few days before the season starts and all of them will also know that we are super desperate so will probably take the pee with the price.

While I agree, it does seem perfectly viable at least. Our one obstacle, assuming PSG aren't in for him, is to convince him to miss CL football for hopefully just this season, maybe next.

We'll see if he's in the squad against Atletico tonight, COPE and Marca think not...

Bayern are also being awkward over Benatia, we should be straight in there and pay Roma's asking price.
