I actually think that you need to go for a marquee signing, whereas i usually advocate being more shrewd. Di Maria would be such a lift to the club, he'd be a fantastic buy for you.

I think getting a big player in is important too, if it's possible without us being utterly shafted.

Goal are reporting that Eto'o has undergone a medical ahead of a switch to Liverpool, to be completed this weekend.

I know that Liverpool are building depth into their squad, but Balotelli *and* Eto'o seems a bit like overkill. Doesn't seem likely to me, especially as he'll be wanting ~£100k pw in wages (on top of the £120k reported for Balotelli).

Why's it overkill? They have the champions league as well? 3 good strikers isn't overkill at all really, not for a team wanting to be at the top of every comp they appear in. If one of them gets injured then they only have 2...

This.

We need to strike some fear into opponents again. Di Maria, Mata, Rooney and V Persie up front would at least get the opposition thinking!

Di Maria has been removed from the Real Madrid squad for the match tonight completely. Khedira too, he's going to Bayern by the sound of it.

So something is up, just waiting for the PSG reports to appear now that it's a done deal. Them or us. :(

Yeah, but that's from their paper 'Sport', probably just a wind up. Real would refuse to deal with them.

If Di Maria says he only want's to go to Barca, he forces RM's hand then. He can run his contract down i suppose..

Even so, I don't think they'd deal. The fans would have a fit.

Sport themselves say it's "impossible" and Perez won't even discuss it.

Radio Marca are reporting Di Maria has spoken to his friend Rojo and decided he wants to join Man Utd. Hope they're right.

hope this is true

This season is going to be another write off isn't it? :(

I'm already waiting for next summer so I can get excited then disappointed all over again

E'too and Mario is overkill imo. They have Lambert and Sterling can play upfront too.

It really isn't, eto if true which I don't think it is anyway, will probably play cup games, borini is going so have two proven strikers in sturridge and Mario then two backs up one having plenty of European experience and the other having lots of experience of English football is a bonus and if eto is true it's a year and he can help our younger players

He would be a great signing, opens up a lot of options in terms of formations and stuff..

4-3-1-2 anyone?

--Jones---Evans---Rojo---Shaw
----Herrera--Fell--Di Maria
--------------Mata
---------RVP----Rooney

not bad at all that team..

You realise you have put fellani in it...?

he's a good player, can get better as well with the support of the United team, just slots into that CB postion when Rojo brings the ball out of defence as well, would be lovely football. He's the best they've got at the mo anyway, i didn't think he could play DM, but looking at a few of his games, he can actually play there..

Lol Fellaini is not a defensive midfielder though...

That team you posted would look better if you swapped Carrick for Fellaini.

Carrick is decent as well, definitely. They could fight it out, i'd be more inclined to put Fell in there as he's not a wimp..:p
