Guillem Balague on Sky just now says Ronaldo has convinced Di Maria to join Man Utd and he's excited to join, etc. Done early next week...

I'm not sure where he'll play exactly, but he's one of the best players around and gives us skill and pace in attack, something we lack. He works very hard too and isn't afraid to get stuck in, as well as having tons of energy.

Very, very happy. I'm sure LvG will get the best out of him.

I'd still like to see central midfield reinforcement though, doesn't have to be anyone flash, just so we don't have to see Cleverley there.

He was injured for the latter parts of it, and had one really poor game which his energy won and he eventually scored the winner. I've watched him loads for Real Madrid and he's often one of their best players, if not the best (Ronaldo aside obviously).

£48m~ is a lot but I'd rather pay that and get him than not... it's what we need. We have no fast attackers.

With Real getting the Golden Boot winner for €10m more/€10m + Di Maria in part exchange :p.

I'd much rather have Di Maria than Rodriguez, for what we need.

PSG to step in now, then.

Di Maria seems expensive at that price, imo (as did Vidal at the price talked about for him). In a window where we've seen Fabregas and Costa go for what they have, etc. But anyway, it seems an odd one because it'd be difficult to play him + Mata/Rooney/RVP at the same time, no? I'm not convinced about him playing in the midfield of the 3-5-2, especially given the midfield players you currently have.

All in position it's difficult to get them in but Di Maria played CM in a 433 for Real in the final and did so for the back end of the season. He did well there though his natural position is a right sided midfielder.
