only daily mail are reporting it , nothing in the dutch news about it so probably rubbish so far

Blind seems a done deal at £14m, Dutch press backing up what Matt Lawton at the Mail said.

Not a bad price all in all, versatile player who knows what LvG wants.

Appears like we might still be negotiating for Cavalho too (although I agree there are mixed reports, some saying its already off)

Blind would be a good bonus to have in CM (as I think we already have enough cover at LB - Ive seen Blind can cover at CB too although never seen how he is there), but Cavalho would be a much better option in this position (sorry , in CM position just to be clear) - and maybe against the bigger teams we will play them both as CM (once they are used to the league)

Indeed. £14 million seems a great price for a decent player. He is the Ajax captain isn't he as well?

He might offset the ugly in the team after signing Di Maria as well :p

Just read the fee agreed for Kagawa to Dortmund is £6.3 million.

Lol wut? : /

I swear we have totally inept people employed to do the transfer dealings. It is just embarrassing.

De Telegraaf broke the Blind story in Holland. They seem to think it's £14 plus bonuses and a percentage of the sell-on fee. I still think Utd have overpaid, but I suppose he is the type of player you need. You can't rebuild an entire squad with £60m players.

Blind won't set the world alight but he's versatile and solid and better than most of your other central midfielders. And he isn't the type of player to throw a tantrum when he gets fewer games after you buy Vidal and whatnot...

Seems pretty damn reasonable for a 24 year old dutch international who has had many accolades in recent years.
