Can't believe that Manchester United are attempting to buy the title.

Annoys me when people say this. We are at a stage where we need a serious rebuild, we have recently lost the greatest manager the PL has ever seen, it was bound to happen at some point. The squad was left in a state when Ferguson retired.

We are spending money that we have earned through hard work and actual success, not fuelled by some oil tycoon.

A lot of journalists seem to think this signals the end of Rooney as a centre forward and now he'll be a midfielder. He can certainly do some sort of job there but I'm not sure he'd be great. Blind and Herrera looks a solid midfield two, anyway.

Rooney either needs to be on the wing or as a CF in my eyes. He mucks about far too much in midfield and there are better players in every midfield position. He strokes the ball around without a care in the world far too much and a lot of those balls slow the game or get intercepted.

Mata is better in the no10 role. If RvP is going under the knife then Falcao and Rooney as out and out strikers is fine.

It'll be fun to have a 'proper' number 9, shirt is free too!

£43.5m option to buy so he'll have to be at his best for that. Assuming he's free of injury, no reason he couldn't be great for a good few years yet.

Still can't believe we're getting Falcao.

Why aren't Arsenal making a massive offer for him?! They might win the league with him up front.

lololol. No, we wouldn't. Hell if we got him we'd play him till his knee went again or something then miss him for 6 months.

Arsenal have sold/selling two cb's and have bought one cb/dm/rb in CHambers. We had don't forget about 38 years in a row where we got destroyed by defensive injuries and sucked with no cover with Song, Miquel, Sagna, Arteta a couple of times(I think during games as opposed to starting there). We go maybe 2 years without significant CB injuries, one season without Gibbs getting to badly hurt and we just sell up the cover?

We need a new LB, a DM and two strikers to have any shot at the league and we won't get any of that. I would hope Wenger is buying a CB if he's letting miquel go but who knows with that plonker, maybe he'll just let one of the under 21 cb's play if required. I highly doubt we're getting a big striker because any big name will choose anyone but Arsenal frankly as we saw with Falcao. Despite their awful start, the utter lack of quality in midfield and poor back line(as it stands due to injuries) Falcao still chose them over us.... it's ridiculous.

I think Januzaj should be loaned to Everton. I doubt he will get much game time this year and Martinez would be perfect for him ;) We could even pay half his wages if you like?

Or you could end up with another Macheda or Hernadez etc, it makes perfect sense :)

Yes, but now we're talking about Falcao, who'd be on another level in terms of cost.

And RVP made up for his fee... but will that still be the case at the end of his contract if you've been paying him a lot over the life of it and he does nothing else of note?

You were talking about RvP

And we're back talking about him again by the looks of it.

Nothing else of note? Is he going into hiding or something? It's all if's and but's my Dear Moses. If you keep plugging away you may come up with a reason why this is a bad deal.

Alternatively, you would be having a pop if we hadn't signed anyone, anything you can have a go at most of the time.

It will be FFP next and how we're going to fall short.

As I said before, Falcao is one of the best, if not the best, forwards in World Football when attacking, facing goal. However he's not nearly as good with his back to goal. Manchester United fans have to hope that they are going to play a lot of through balls or cross the ball to him a lot.

Fantastic deal, Falcao is certainly not a young player, a loan would suit both him and Manchester United very well.

Manchester United are still woefully short in other area's of the pitch however.

Speechless if we don't do any business in today - Wenger flying off to a charity match... u wot m8? So far we've bought replacements for outgoing players and only added one player (Sanchez) as an actual addition. Das not it mane.
