Shaking my head in disbelief at this transfer window.

United throwing money around like its going out of fashion and Arsenal starting off with a promising window and then letting it all slip away by not strengthening in the areas needed most.

Sigh.

Know this confuses some people. Falcao not subject to income tax in Monaco. Must pay tax at MU. Imagine Monaco top up his MU wages.

R5L are saying Borini transfer is off....

Its not like Man Utd have strengthened where they needed to either .....unfortunately

Cleverley to Everton?

"The word on Merseyside now is Tom Cleverley's desire to work with Roberto Martinez again might lend itself to a move to Everton. Martinez has loads of faith in him from their time together at Wigan. Everton think he would jump at the chance of working for Martinez again."

:(

Half of the team evades tax constantly, no one gives a crap. Rooney was involved in the whole 22% tax thing for years... I can't remember what came of it, his name didn't get dragged through the mud, no one cared. The fans still thought he was brilliant and loved him for england regardless, Walcott did it, Sturridge did it. These things only matter when you hate the person to start with and can then smack them over the head with it, when it's someone you love or an England star, everything is fine.

A lot of them also got involved in that whole film investment tax thing, I think HRMC was planning to claim all that tax back, I can't remember if they planned to or did infact get any money back over the being paid in image rights at corp tax rather than through salary from the club.

Almost every bigger club in the league, including Arsenal, has used every means at their disposal for YEARS to avoid tax. In the early/mid 2000's it was a large part of salary being paid by offshore companies into trust funds or whatever the hell it was till the league finally put a stop to that. They've all done it for over a decade in every new way that comes up.

The above... it is avoidance. It is also entirely personal to the footballers. The clubs are not complicit in it which is why the media don't mention the club's, only the players. Here Man Utd would be aiding the enterprise.

Your suggestion...it is evasion. The difference = criminality in the latter.

You may well be able to structure away lots of the tax but it isn't as easy as you make out and I imagine Man Utd are as far away from it as possible. It isn't as effective as you think and just about every major institution is petrified of being tainted with the bad tax payer brush.

Things I've learnt this deadline day.

The SSN's Women are getting fitter by the year.

Man Utd are building a handsome 11.

Drunkenmaster is going to do my tax.
