The above... it is avoidance. It is also entirely personal to the footballers. The clubs are not complicit in it which is why the media don't mention the club's, only the players. Here Man Utd would be aiding the enterprise.

Your suggestion...it is evasion. The difference = criminality in the latter.

You may well be able to structure away lots of the tax but it isn't as easy as you make out and I imagine Man Utd are as far away from it as possible. It isn't as effective as you think and just about every major institution is petrified of being tainted with the bad tax payer brush.

Firstly it's not evasion, there is no law that says someone has to be paid at a specific time, but IF they do and they didn't pay tax they were owed that is where it would get criminal.

secondly as I pointed out, the thing of paying players offshore to reduce tax was ABSOLUTELY involving the clubs, because it was the salary. The only thing I listed which is only down to the players was the film investment scheme. Paying out more than half a players wages to a corporation to be taxed differently rather than direct to the player again absolutely involves the clubs. They have at every possible turn done everything to minimise how much they pay in tax, players and clubs. They only stop when the league adds new rules to make it illegal or HMRC makes it illegal.

R5L are saying Borini transfer is off....

Its not like Man Utd have strengthened where they needed to either .....unfortunately

Is this remotely serious. Utd need a DM, they got a Blind, they needed a central mid they got Herrera, they need a LB, they got a Shaw, they need a CB, they got a Rojo, they need a creative driving midfielder wide or central, they paid £60mil for Di Maria, they have no decent third striker and there is rumour that one of the first team strikers might miss a huge portion of the season, they bring in one of the best strikers in the game today in Falcao.

Utd haven't strengthened where they needed to... sure. What freaking planet are you living on.

Come on Woodward, 1-2 more signings please and Strootman in January.

I cant see Utd having the time , between Cleverley and Welbz leaving and Falcao arriving

I REALLY hope for CM (or a centre half) , I just cant see either happening

It depends on your classification of "strengthened"

Yes we have spent money in most areas of the pitch, but as Spurs proved last season, just because you buy x amount of players doesn't mean they gel together, or even work in the EPL how you want them to.

2ndly Rojo is a bit of a gamble, Blind undoubtedly will come good in time in one area of the pitch or another but will those two especially hit the ground running like the team NEED them too before the top two or three get clear away.

Di Maria may well be a class player but I would have offered £40m (even with his dodgy knee) for Vidal three -four weeks ago and forgotten completely about Di Maria (no dis-respect to him at all) but Vidal or one like him (when there aren't many) is needed MUCH more and Utd could have "bought" Blind for free /spent £20m less for cover. Vidal would also more likely make a bigger difference to what the team need now.
