Do any of the other United fans on here think it's possibly a mistake allowing both Hernandez and Welbeck to leave (not that the latter has actually gone yet)? If the papers are to be believed, the reason we went for Falcao is that RVP needs a knee op. If true, we could be left with just Falcao and Rooney, one of which is just recovering from a serious injury lay-off himself, and the other isn't an out-and-out striker. If Falcao doesn't recover from his surgery properly or has a recurrence, we could be left with just Rooney.

There's Wilson as well.

I've got to be honest, a list of Falcao, Rooney, Van Persie and Wilson doesn't concern me.

It's a fantastic opportunity for Wilson to learn from three top strikers which can only be good for him and United.

Is this remotely serious. Utd need a DM, they got a Blind, they needed a central mid they got Herrera, they need a LB, they got a Shaw, they need a CB, they got a Rojo, they need a creative driving midfielder wide or central, they paid £60mil for Di Maria, they have no decent third striker and there is rumour that one of the first team strikers might miss a huge portion of the season, they bring in one of the best strikers in the game today in Falcao.

Utd haven't strengthened where they needed to... sure. What freaking planet are you living on.

Indeed. I wouldn't say it's ideal but we're in decent shape assuming we don't get many injuries. Some of the fringe players will likely be more comfortable when we're playing better and have some confidence too.

Pretty exciting first team, to say the very least.

Valid point but Im not sure either Welbeck or Chicharito (and I really love the latter for the down to earth way he is) would make that much difference in that scenario anyway.

Januzzaj and Mata supplying Rooney and Di Maria (ok the formation on how to fit them in would need to be worked out) but it could do well.....

Of course Wilson too

Has Lawrence actually gone on loan, that rumour was floating around yesterday or so

Firstly it's not evasion, there is no law that says someone has to be paid at a specific time, but IF they do and they didn't pay tax they were owed that is where it would get criminal.

secondly as I pointed out, the thing of paying players offshore to reduce tax was ABSOLUTELY involving the clubs, because it was the salary. The only thing I listed which is only down to the players was the film investment scheme. Paying out more than half a players wages to a corporation to be taxed differently rather than direct to the player again absolutely involves the clubs. They have at every possible turn done everything to minimise how much they pay in tax, players and clubs. They only stop when the league adds new rules to make it illegal or HMRC makes it illegal.

DM- I can't argue with pig ignorant. You have exhausted me but I will leave you with the following; it is evasion because you don't get out of UK tax law because of timing. Being paid early or late in respect of UK employment = taxable.

To unpick your second point is beyond me but you sound like UK Uncut. Have a think about the UK corporation tax rate, the UK dividend rate for individuals and what the tax savings of incorporation actually are. Then progress to think about how many people incorporate their businesses and how the business affairs of footballers are fairly complex where legal separation might be good for risk.

Finally, think about whether HMRC are actually really quite smart and able or whether they take tips from Greece.

Also, let's not forget, even though United are spending zillions, we're still a team in rebuild mode, we have to expect there to be some pretty rough times ahead.

LvG said it himself, you can't build a great team in one month or even one year.
