Will be a long summer, I can't imagine the club waiting until after the WC for him to make a decision.

I find it difficult to believe that all this has come about because of his birthday, it seems bizarre for his agent to use that as an excuse when there is proof of him getting a cake and so on. I can't imagine all the players said nothing to him off camera as well.

Very odd situation. Something I expected from Balotelli or Tevez but since then we have hardly been in the media and now something like this. Weird.

If it wasn't true and I was Toure, I would give my agent a slap and tell him that if he does that again he will be fired. I would think Man City will be pretty sick of his agent by now and if I was them I would tell Toure to sort him out.

Now they are openly touting him around, I reckon you could knock 10 million off that price as they want to shift him.

Only other player I can think of that City would struggle without is Kompany. Sure, Aguero is world class but so is Dzeko, Negredo, etc. so scoring goals isn't an issue.

I'd happily have him back at Arsenal, a player like him doesn't just lose it. Utd won't be as attractive either now Fergie is gone and no CL.

He can also play deeper in central midfield, he's quite versatile. We don't really lack creativity though, we do lack pace and power in midfield so that should be more important. I wouldn't be unhappy with him though.

So even though the press all last year were running the story that Fabregas was available and wanted to leave/wasn't wanted at Barca... it turned out to be rubbish. Same story coming out again from the same source, but it's true just because?

As for tired, slow and being worth less.

Last season Xavi 7 goals 12 assists club and country in 41 starts 7 sub appearances.
This season he has 4 goals 5 assists, in 36 starts, 6 sub appearances. Actually started more games in the league this season.

Quite a bit worse and much much less influential throughout the season.

Last season Iniesta 6 goals 18 assists in 40 starts 8 sub appearances.
This season he has 3 goals 10 assists in 41 starts 11 sub appearances.

Significantly worse, less effective, his 18 assist season was actually very unusual as he's usually between 5-9 assists in the league, he managed 16 in the league alone last season, over double his average.

Fabregas last year, 14 goals, 11 assists, 41 starts 7 sub appearances... better than the other two.

This season 13 goals, 14 assists 44 starts, 11 sub appearances. The only player of the three to have a better season this year.

Fabregas is easily the most effective and the best of the three players.

The Daily mail pushed the "fans hate Fabregas, he's performed poorly, is desperate to leave and the club want him gone" story all last summer and it was BS. The Daily mail started running stories on another poor season for Fabregas about a month ago.

Of the Barca midfield, he's the only player who did better, the team were noticeably better with him on the pitch. Compared to the constantly praised Iniesta Fabregas's value should have increased, not decreased. When Iniesta players people never shut up about how brilliant he is. Fabregas outperforms him in almost every game.... but is somehow having a crap season.

The biggest/strangest thing about the general non rating of Fabregas is, while Iniesta scored a crucial winning goal in the world cup, Fabregas got a crucial assist in each of the three finals. It's amazing that the most important player in three international finals gets berated while Iniesta and his consistent under performing gets completely ignored.
