Only other player I can think of that City would struggle without is Kompany. Sure, Aguero is world class but so is Dzeko, Negredo, etc. so scoring goals isn't an issue.

Neither Dzeko nor Negredo are world class and without Aguero I would be amazed if City would have won much of the past few years.

Agueros general contribution is much greater than Dzeko and he is the far better player.

LVG is a 4-3-3 man so we required a Fabregas or two alongside a Defensive midfielder in his system. If Fabregas comes to us and Kroos keeps fluttering his eye lids it is going to torture me all summer because i view that as a dream team. A partnership like those two would be something a year or two ago was the territory of Barcelona with Xavi iniesta. Fabregas and Kroos would be equally as memorable.

Infact if United managed to get either which now looks likely it will still be a massive coop because Mata can still come deeper to play with Fabregas. Now just get me Shaw and Hummels. Or if there really is a god give me them all :D

To be fair, he [Tourre] is an absolute beast of a player and Man City wouldn't have been near the league this season without him.

That's what I was thinking.
And he won't leave.
His agent is merely making noises, perhaps to renew his contract.
Given that he has had such a great year, this was be a perfect time to renegotiate his contract and get even more money from the cash cow that is Man City.

I'd do the same, in his position.

I might give 2015 a go, But they are terrible games. But being realistic there is no smoke without fire and United do have £150m and players to trade like Kagawa and Hernandez. Now take a look at this team and point me out an unrealistic transfer. Im sure well get at least two of them.

There is no smoke without fire?

Really?

Well I heard this guy called Rofflay was going to sign as Bayern's main striker after Lewandoski got accepted to the Russian space program.

99.9999999% of the rumours papers print throughout the season ARE bull****, it's as simple as that. There IS smoke without fire.

There is currently little to nothing pointing to Utd getting Fabregas except Daily Mail claiming he wants to leave, like they claimed all last season until when Fabregas got back from his holiday he laughed off the idea he wanted to leave.

Kroos, he might leave, he's not actually that good but wants pay parity with the best at Bayern. Though he's the kind of boring/ineffective/pass it sideways a lot type of player Guardiola loves so he may actually get the silly contract he wants. If not Utd could get him, but they shouldn't. Huge ego, not great player, loads of better value targets.

Thats not Kroos, that Guardiola deciding that one of the most ruthless and efficient sides in memory would be better off playing like Barcelona of a few years ago.

Manchester City are planning for next season on the basis they will only need five home-grown players for their Champions League squad rather than eight, it can be disclosed.
UEFA sources had indicated last week that City would still need to have eight home-grown players in the reduced squad, but the club are understood to believe they only need to name five and are actively working on that basis.
That has had a significant impact on Manuel Pellegrini's plans for the transfer market for the summer - as part of the UEFA FFP settlement City have guaranteed to limit their net transfer spending to B£49million.
UEFA would not confirm the exact rule on home-grown players for the 21-man squad, however.
A UEFA spokesman said: "UEFA is not in a position to make any further comment relating to individual settlement agreements at this time."
Interesting if true. Will mean a stronger CL squad and less pressure to buy/sell HG players.

Marc Albrighton released by Villa. If only Moyes was still at United.

Absolute joke. May as well release Benteke and Delph too. Albrighton was the only player towards the end of the season that actually looked half decent. His crossing is fantastic and I find it unbelievable that he'd play Weimann, a striker, out wide as opposed to him when we had Benteke fit.

I'm not entirely sure what you're getting at as without being offensive, it's dodgy english at best.

Are you saying Kroos is brilliant but has been less good under Guardiola's system, or?

Kroos took 84 shots in league and CL, and scored 5 goals, of which he scored 2 in the league in 52 shots. He shoots a lot but doesn't score much for the amount of he shoots. The only reason anyone in England rates him is he managed to score one of his not very many goals a year against England itself, or english teams in the CL and because of his general style... which is bang an incoming ball towards the goal from 25 yards out, he misses loads but when he scores it looks more impressive than your average goal.

He's decent, but 90% of what he does is say the Busquets "just pass it on" role, or 10% shooting of which the majority is poor. He isn't as good as Busquets defensively.

Kroos really hasn't hinted at anything but being a little above average. He would improve the Utd midfield but spending whatever he costs + 150-200k a week he believes he's worth would be better spent on actually great central midfielders or wide players. At 100k a week and a lowish transfer fee he's probably worth a punt but I've never seen a full game in which he's hinted at being one of the best around.

It does sound like Kroos might be a real option for us, the press both here and in Germany think there's a fair chance he might join. He can be a bit inconsistent at times but overall I'd be very happy with him, excellent player and a huge improvement on what we have.

Name me this player who does the killer passes Kroos does not or are you going to compare a midfielder to a number ten? He has a great passing range, He has the build and you realise he is only 24? So he has not even reached his prime yet. And he plays in a position these 10's like Ozil,Kagawa,Mata,Hazard simply cannot or will not. He is a proper player and could be world class if he bucks his attitude.

The same is true of Cesc Fabregas. United or any English team would be lucky to have either as this sideways passing you seem to be irate too is the superior form of football. I really dislike the average hate towards this so called boring football. It is boring because when it was done right the other team never got a sniff and after you get two goals you have no need to pass anyhere but sideways. Barcelona had 3 years of dominance, Bayern could have went two with Tiki Taka but something collapsed in the squad. They have been trend setters and even SAF said it was the future of football.

Or are you going to disagree and tell me Madrid were just flipping amazing? Because in the first ten minutes it was obvious something was incredibly wrong inside the Bayern camp and Guardiola said it himself. They had a blip but the fact remains if you do not want to sideways pass and keep the ball you have to gift it away and sit with Mourinho's bus in front of the goal. Which is trading a proactive dominant stragegy for a reactive lets hope to take our one chance on goal tactic. Now where is the logic in basing an ideal team on anything but posession based football?

Stats seem to suggest his passing is pretty unadventurous and that he doesn't attempt killer balls often. He averages just 1.4 key passes per game. To put that into perspective, Gerrard averaged 2 per game last season playing a very similar role. It's not just Gerrard though, in the PL alone Sissoko, Westwood, Henderson, Cabaye, Davis, Huddlestone and even Mark Noble played more key passes per 90 minutes than Kroos from CM positions.

The more attacking midfielders/number 10's play considerably more than that with the likes of Silva and Ozil playing around 3 key passes per game on average.

A lot of the time he plays a deeper role though which is why i like him. You simply cannot put Ozil or Silva that deep so to compare him to anyone but a midfielder would be skewed. Gerrard is also older and more by the time Kroos is Gerrards age i fully imagine he will be doing more than 1.4 per game. I cannot imagine a season of being at loggerheads with the club helped either.

Kroos has realistically only very recently been playing the deeper role, and bayern were **** when he played while Martinez or Swine were out injured or banned. He was completely hopeless against Real. He offers very little, killer ball, his entire game is pass sideways from 5-10 yards outside the box and occasionally he thwacks a ball at goal, and by occasionally I of course mean... he does it constantly but only very occasionally scores.

Most of the games I've seen him play he absolutely plays/played the role you might find Mata in, behind the striker or wide attacker who comes inside a lot.

He consistently plays in front of either Martinez, Swine, or both, he isn't a proper central midfielder at all. Most of last year Bayern would play what you would pretty much call at 4-2-3-1, and Kroos was almost always one of the 3 attacking mids, not one of the two deeper midfielders.

Hit natural role, or preferred role is very clearly not deep in midfield but around the number 10 role sitting infront of the two actual CM's and behind the striker. Before this season since Bayern got rid of Gustavo, they would basically play Martinez/Swine together anchoring the midfield with Swine pushing forward and Martinez holding, if either was out Gustavo played. Kroos rarely plays there, isn't particularly good there and in his most normal role, which is absolutely the no.10 role, he's okay but simply nothing special.
