"It hurts when you're always doing your best for your club and then you hear that you might be going to Tottenham," he told Marca

I think the headline is a little misleading, doesn't sound to me like he's saying it hurts to be linked with Spurs. Much more that it hurts to be the player being linked with a move away when you're there trying your best. Alas, I may be looking at it with rose tinted glasses.

But in the event that I am, he kind of does Bale and Modric a bit of disservice there. They're arguably two of Real's best players and both came through Spurs so although it might be a step back in terms of playing for a bigger club, it's not like we've never had nor ever been able to nurture talent. Hell, if he had come to us we may have turned him into an £80m player as well!

Tonight's papers are reporting that Liverpool have upped their offer for Lallana to £25m. Hopefully that'll be enough to get him and if the Moreno & Can deals are as close as some say we could have a very handy looking squad in the next week or so.

It probably has been taken out of context but its too good a quote to ignore! Gave me a giggle

it's looking good so far :)

Really hope So'ton don't hold out for £30m; I want Lallana with us. Maybe if they refuse he will put in a transfer request? I wish he'd do it anyway as "they" say he prefers a move to us over other options.

And me. If, as reported, they want 27m I'll be pretty upset if we don't pay the extra 2. Bet he ends up at Spurs :(

I can't see Southampton turning down £25m. Very good price for them. Good from Liverpool for conducting their transfer business early. I only wish we'd do that rather than leaving everything to the last minute and diving into the primark bargain bin

It's only about 18m to saints the remainder goes to Bournemouth as a sell on so it actually isn't great money for us. If it were upto me I'd tell Liverpool to cough up 30m now or come back after the World Cup at which point the price and competition may be significantly higher as unlike lambert Lallana is certain to play.

Still gutted about loosing lambert a total club legend and a true boys own story but it will be a shame to see him rotting on liverpools bench.

I hope he doesn't rot on our bench. Not only will he offer us another option up top with his presence, but he's actually a very good footballer with the ball at his feet.

In games like the one we had against Chelsea, he could be invaluable to us in breaking them down when our passing isn't working.

BR doesn't strike me as a manager to sign players and not use them. He'll either play them, move them on again quickly if it doesn't work, or send them out on loan to develop.

Brendan Rodgers also hopeful of signing Alberto Moreno, Dejan Lovren and Emre Can in the next fortnight

I'm told, as it stands, Lallana favours move to #LFC over other options. Liverpool aware of others. Want to get deal done

Happy with all them players in honesty, Id still like a couple more though, Heck id be half tempted to take Cole on just not on stupid wages, Wouldnt mind Song either but i sense we wouldnt pay the fee Barca would want.

Stalemate in Lallana's proposed move to #LFC. Player wants future sorted before WC. #SaintsFC want to wait.

Liverpool are hoping to sign Alberto Moreno within the next week after Sevilla gave the Reds the green light, according to the Daily Mirror.

My fear is he is already in a visible decline, he's not the player he was a year ago and he thrives on playing week in week out. Was always much better for saints after a run of games and really struggled to make an impact when pochetino was trying to phase him out of the team last season.

Don't get me wrong I appreciate just how good a player he is I just feel this move is two seasons to late for him, hope I'm proved wrong but I don't see him being the player he has been for much longer and fear his career will now just fizzle out.

Hope he at least gets a game at st Mary's this season so the fans can give him the thank you he deserves.

If that's the case, he'd be rotting on the bench at Saints as well though - at least this way he gets a chance to put himself on the biggest stage. He deserves that.

No disrespect to Saints by the way, I enjoy watching them and really like the way they're run.
