Well the rags have picked up on Remy going to Arsenal with Remy agreeing personal terms with Arsenal :/...not sure how true that is as i feel we could do much better than Remy in all honesty. But if it is true then if he can chip in with 20+ goals for next season with Giroud then i suppose its not all bad really.

Re Cesc Fabregas rumours, seems like Barca do want rid of him. Saw a tweet that mentioned Barca still owing us about 15mill euros for both Fabregas and Song. Not sure if thats been paid as the tweet mentioned it was taken from last june 2013. If it is true then it means that Arsenal could potentially get Fabregas a lot cheaper than the rumoured £30mill buyout clause...thats if we decide to bring him back home.

Again not believing both rumours until they actually happen, just wish Wenger would hurry up and tie up some players FFS :/. Pretty sure we are in for a long hard summer again ie waiting till the last minute of the transfer window only to get unknown rubbish players in:(.

As funny as some paper wanting Utd to register a £75m offer for Saurez ( just after Evra puts pen to paper on an extension) lol

Why can nobody spell Suarez? I don't normally get that frustrated with spelling online, but it's such a simple name to spell and nobody can do it right

United transfer news on the slow side, was hoping they could sort some business out before the start of the world cup.

Wait till we get LvG.
Things should kick up a notch.
I have repeatedly stated that we do not need to buy so many new players - just 2 or 3 top class ones.
In saying this, Fabregas "appears" to be available.

I'd definitely stump up the cash for this guy.
He knows how to play possession football and is almost certainly the type of play which would work in LvG's system.

I think everyone needs to calm down a bit (United fans included), the transfer window isn't even open yet and we're on the brink of a major international tournament. Clubs are going to be stalling and holding out for more money in most cases.

There is also this mentality of building up a player like Kroos over a few goals against English teams, his record doesn't stand up, ...

I havent seen much of Kroos.
Only the games against Man Utd.
He was pretty ordinary.
Is that his "standard" or does he usually play better than that?
I am struggling to see what the excitement is about.

Febregas, Ronaldo, Messi, Mata, Ribery, Robben - I can understand the excitement. These are all players who can mkae things happen in a big game.
But what 's with the love for Kroos?

Also, why is there no interest for Kroos, from rival big clubs? My thinking is that if the player isnt good enough for Man City, Madrid, Barca, etc...then he isnt good enough for Man Utd.

No, Kroos is pretty average, but he managed a goal against Arsenal, one against England, I forget if he was actually good against England but I don't think he was actually decent against Arsenal just got the goal.

The love for Kroos, simple, fans get excited about a player that comes from a top notch team where the media pushes the impression he's instrumental in that team, which isn't entirely unfair. IE Ronaldo going anywhere and the media push that Ronaldo is the most important player, difference is it's true for Ronaldo, not for Kroos. media make a lot of crap up. Kroos is almost entirely unimportant to the Bayern team, is clearly making a big deal over wanting more pay parity with the better players in the team and that has been the case for say 12-18 months. The media know this so start basically making up stories about him coming to England at which point everyone acts like he's gods gift because it sounds better that one of Bayern's best players is coming to the EPL rather than one of Bayern's most replaceable players.

Then you have fans who barely seeing a player decide he's brilliant based on media telling them so or... you know... a player being good in football manager.

As for Fabregas, I'd again point out the English media basically made up that Cesc was coming back to the EPL last year because barca fans hate him, Barca don't want him and he's playing like crap... none of that was true last year, none of that was true this year.

The only fact that I would say suggests potential for a move is pay. Due to Arsenal being a bit tight and Barca being a bit tight the move to Barca meant Fabregas gave up his loyalty style payment and took what was supposedly around 120k a week. Compared to the likes of Iniesta, Xavi and especially Neymar/Messi he's on a pretty low age with not that long left on his contract so there is a chance Barca could look to cash in.

But again like last year when Barca said they aren't selling, and the english press just made up their own stories about a move, this season Barca have said they aren't selling him, and we've seen nothing from Fabregas to suggest a move.

There isn't a team in England that wouldn't be improved by Fabregas, but I can't see him leaving in reality, he loves it there, his family is there and he's doing great there. He walked in to the team and within months had more influence on results than Xavi or iniesta, and massively outplayed both this season, over 3 seasons he's done a heck of a lot more for the team than the other team, they'd be mad to let him go... but then they were mad to let Villa go...

With regards to Fabregas, I realise that he is a (genuine) top player, which is why I want him at Man U, and I dont want Kroos.

Why would Barca let Fabregas go, despite being one of their best players? For the right money, Barca have to think about the business side of things. If they sell him for say £50M+, I think it would make good sense for them to let him go.

With regards him returning to Arsenal - stranger things have happened, but due to the low wages which Arsenal pay, I cant see any reason for him to go there. I think if he does move to England, it'll be either Man City or Man Utd (for a big price and big wages, which Arsenal cannot afford).

Its an interesting one for me as an Arsenal fan.

I've always loved Cesc, I didn't begrudge him leaving to play for his boyhood hero and boyhood club. If he does come back to England, I'd hate to see him in any shirt other than ours. At the same time I'm concerned that we wouldn't really be able to shoe-horn him into midfield - its the one area of the pitch where we are overwhelmed with quality, it would mean pushing out somebody that could potentially be very good.

What do my fellow Arsenal fans thing? Cash in on Wilshire maybe? Get Diaby off the books and effectively have Cesc back for free?

You have just mentioned 6 flair players, of which only two pairs play in the same team ( and if reports are to be believed not for much longer)

You cant have a team of ten outfield flair players, it just wouldnt work. Teams need more variance in skill sets to be successful ( and going beyond just positionaly too)

£20-30m for a cm like Kroos, or same money for an injured strootman ( who is a major risk because its a guess how he will recover let alone anything else and doesnt want to leave Roma anyway), 30-40m for Carvalho ( who has his own risk attached), or cheaper youth prospects ( mainly Dutch so far funnily enough)

Kroos is a decent player, still with potentially 8 or more years at the top level, already vastly experienced and more than capable of feeding the likes of Rooney, Mata, RvP with quality / dangerous passes and could play alongside a more creative cm like Fab or in that mold

Edit Im not convinced Fab will leave, but if he does (and a lot stranger things have happened) Utd HAVE to at least try to sign him ( just dont waste too long about it to the detriment of other players/ positions).

Why do you think Arsenal can't afford wages Utd pay? are we stupid enough to pay Rooney £300k a week, no, but we aren't certainly short on money.

If Rooney is on £300k a week, then Fab should be easily pushing £400k at Utd.

He is 28 and is unlikely going to want to miss out on a year of CL football. Not that he is likely to win it at utd or Arsenal but still unlikely want to do that.

If its for money only he will join City if they are looking. I certainly wouldn't rule out him coming to Arsenal though. We might have a lot of players in his position but none he couldn't easily replace and make us stronger.

Will be interesting to see how it develops...

I said last year there was no chance of him leaving but more likely this summer. But still be very surprised unless he gets kicked out. Until he comes out and says he is going then I think he will stay. He only made it public towards the end of the summer last time. It's goingto be a long world cup for people expecting him to sign soon.

.

Actually wiining something is more likely to attract him, than just participating

Even at this point Utd are more likely to win something sooner than Wenger lol
