Does the XP Booster pack last forever?
Boosters are bought with Tribes Gold. Boost doubles the XP you earn while playing, allowing you to unlock classes, weapons and upgrades in half the time.
Currently you can purchase:
Booster Cost
1 Day 240 Gold
3 Day 400 Gold
10 Day 640 Gold
30 Day 1200 Gold
90 Day 2400 Gold
Boost can also be used alongside your VIP bonus. Boost is applied after the VIP 50% bonus, effectively tripling the default XP earning rate.
In a match where you would regularly earn 800 XP as a regular player, the same match with both VIP status and Boost active would have awarded you 2400 XP (800 XP x 1.5 VIP Bonus x 2 Boost).
Tribes: Ascend Version 1.0942.1 is scheduled to be released on Friday, April 27. The servers will be down for several hours while the update is applied.
Weapon/Balance Items:
Increased damage on Brute’s Heavy Spinfusor by roughly 7%.
Modified the Pathfinder's Light Assault Rifle so that it has an increased projectile speed and fall-off begins at a greater distance (buffed). Projectile speed now matches that of the Soldier’s Assault Rifle.
Modified the collision size of Raider’s Plasma Gun projectile. The weapon’s damage and rate of fire remain the same.
Bug Fixes:
Fixed an issue that impacted the ability of the Shrike to fly vertically.
Fixed an issue in which the First Win of the Day bonus was not being awarded in some scenarios.
Fixed an issue that would prevent a player from deploying deployables.
Recently earned badges are now shown correctly on the profile page.
Several bug fixes and cleanups on the menu UI.
Hmm I'm not sure if it's worth purchasing the 1800 gold pack, I guess I could then pay 1200 gold to get the XP Booster and then spend whatever I have left on unlocking the other classes.
This game worth playing with it being F2P?
I played Tribes 2 from release day to when the servers were shut down by sierra/vivendi.
I harbour nothing but disdain for F2P games, but I thoroughly loved Tribes 2, so...
Which classes do you guys play the most? As a noob I found soldier to be the easiest to get on with. Not sure if I should pile all my XP on upgrades for just the one class though, or maybe I could do one class at a time... Hmm
