Which classes do you guys play the most? As a noob I found soldier to be the easiest to get on with. Not sure if I should pile all my XP on upgrades for just the one class though, or maybe I could do one class at a time... Hmm

I mainly play inf in a flag and base disruption role. Apart from that I will run routes as pathfinder. Soldier it's an excellent learning class that can perform pretty much every task to a great standard.

Has anyone got a guide to how far Reach perk extends?

Just want to know roughly where I have to aim for, for example does it apply vertically? Say if someone is standing on the flag can I bounce off their head and grab the flag?

Its roughly one body length width ways and high is about 1/2 body hight if i remember correctly.

What should I use between the eagle pistol and the thumper DX?

If you are going spinfuser primary, I would suggest pistol for secondary. Having 2 explosive weapons can be nice, but unless you are great at air shots with the spinfuser you won't do much against anyone who just jetpacks all around you.

Hmm, I think the spinfuser might be a bit to difficult for me to go for yet. Got 690 Gold left after buying the 30 day booster, not sure what else I should spend it on. :p

Just played for a couple of hours. The Plasma Gun has been nerfed slightly but not enough in my opinion. The hitbox for it is still too big (about the size of a grav cycle!). Raiders are just flying about fragging all the time. Hopefully they'll address this once more in a new patch.

I went for the Spinfusor as primary and eagle piston as secondary. Getting a lot more kills now.

What are the best perks for a soldier?

Tom - I play as a Solider half the time & personally I prefer the Assault Rifle so you can hit enemies in the air easier, but the Spinfusor is great too. In terms of Soldier Perks, I go for Safety Third (extra grenade) & Survivalist (heal 10% from Ammo drops).

For people playing the Soldier don't underestimate Proximity Grenades, they are extremely effective.

You can take out incoming cappers 90% of the time (with practice).

Basically they have a detonation time of 3 seconds, but if an enemy comes within a certain radius they will prematurely detonate.

For chasing with soldier I use disc and pistol then proxy nade with egocentric and ultra capacitor. There was a link a few pages back on getting a code for a free soldier disc.

Pubs = public games on normal servers.

Is this good?

If you didn't play and enjoy games like Quake, Unreal Tournament and the old Tribes then you probably won't like this.

It's got a very high skill ceiling, to the point where you need to play for a good few weeks just to grasp the basics.

The game is not for everyone, but people who enjoy skill based games who are tired of the direction the recent shooters are heading. Then it's a very refreshing change.

Metacritic, lot's of good feedback: http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/tribes-ascend

It's something that I can still see myself playing in a years time.
