Why should a £30 Tv sick be better than a brand new, fairly expensive TV's software?
I've already got a Beelink GTKing for streaming. But it's ridiculous that a company that builds TVs and sells them for thousands can't sort basic apps out, and the BBC puts restrictions in place to make it harder to use their apps on TVs - whist being perfectly fine using it on a piece of hookey Chinese tech.

Agreed. Hence why I bought one with a good chipset and Google TV. The software is fine, and works well. It's BBC and certification of devices that's the issue.

I'm really surprised to hear BBC haven't certified this yet. It doesn't fall under our remit (I work on Freeview Play & Freely). But I might see what I can find out.

Very few people I knew had sky growing up. The ones that did could least afford it ha.

Parent's certainly weren't poor. They just didn't want it or need it. Also no need for private education when there are perfectly good free schools out there.
