Just get a Roku or Amazon stick. Much better than the built in software on TVs anyway.
Why should a £30 Tv sick be better than a brand new, fairly expensive TV's software?

I've already got a Beelink GTKing for streaming. But it's ridiculous that a company that builds TVs and sells them for thousands can't sort basic apps out, and the BBC puts restrictions in place to make it harder to use their apps on TVs - whist being perfectly fine using it on a piece of hookey Chinese tech.

Because the software on most "smart" TVs is ****.
