Two New Intel SandyBridge CPUs - The 2700K Retail and 2700K OEM - Pre-Order NOW (GIBBO tested upto 5

Yes mate i'm upgrading from a 2600k to the 2700k

You must be the 1st person to upgrade from 2600K to 2700K but if you are using the same motherboard, I doubt it won't make any difference between your current 2600K to the newest 2700K and may I ask what is your current 2600K overclock speed set at ?

I don't need to upgrade to 2700K because mine is fine with 5GHz @ 1.48v for nearly 4 months now.

I do hope your new 2700K can clock higher than your 2600K, if not, your money is in the bin!

Guys I openly admit that I suffer from upgraditus when it comes to my gaming pc, I also admit that since being into pc's i've probably wasted money on upgrades. However its been my money to do this with and I enjoy playing around with new hardware.

My current 2600k is stable at 4.6ghz, I can boot into windows at 4.8ghz and 5ghz however it isn't 100% stable.

I also mainly use my pc for a game called Strike Fighters 2, its a flight sim that when you apply lots of mods becomes very cpu intensive. It also needs to maintain 60fps vsync or it suffers bad stuttering. Therefore if I can go from 4.6ghz upto 5ghz or even 5.2ghz stable, i'll see a difference.

Either way i'll post what I find overclocking it tomorrow hopefully.

Thanks OCUK, very happy with my 2700k, overclocks much better than my 2600k. I'm currently testing upto 5.2ghz stable looks very promising so far as i'm typing this while running IBT on high.

Thanks again

No problem, like I said our OEM batch is rather special and great to see you getting similar results to myself. :)
