Type R and VTEC owners

Hi peeps again.

I've seen an silver ep3 Type R. Now its a 2001 model but its only done 75k. I was wondering what to look out for on the early pre-facelifts?
Seller says its in mint condition but you never know.

cheers.

Clutch at that mileage (listen out for release bearing), ask about timing chain issues. Apart from that they're pretty bullet proof, as long as you have a sensible head and cover any issues a normal car would have etc.

the other half is looking to get a facelift ep2 is there anything we should be looking out for when viewing the car? She's looking to spend around £3500 max, possible to get a decent one for around this price?

£3500 sounds like quite a big budget for a model of car that is now 2 generations out of date, particularly when the newer (FK?) generation is creeping into that budget now too.

If she's set on that particular model, you should be able to find one in an excellent condition on that budget.

Where abouts are you located? i have a 55 plate(Pretty much the newest ep2 you can buy, never ever seen a 06 plate) Cosmic grey EP2, with a ep3 Type R spoiler, Full honda main dealer history, around 9 stamps, just been serviced and mot'd at honda this month, Recent timing belt change, along with service (£500) In exceptional condition apart from usual stonechips to the front bumper, 81k mileage 2 previous owners. I highly doubt you will find a better one, not really wanting to get rid of it, but i am wanting an integra or ep3. So would consider selling.

4x bridgestone tyres 2xfronts are 2 month old and all wheels are kerb free apart from pasenger side which was damaged in snow, but its very very minor and you would struggle to see it even when trying to

I am at S81 post code.

Thanks, hopefully going to see it at the weekend. I know to look out for the normal stuff.

Missed it mate, where is the car?

Crank pulley went on it so it's been in the garage since last Sat. Got the parts from Honda yesterday so decided to do all the work at once to it. I should get it back tomorrow (hoping).

All that's left are the front tyres as I never got round to doing them. Can't decide between the Potenzas or AD08's.

Potenza if you are using all year round.
AD08 for mental performance.

I am putting my re050a on some spare wheels for winter. But the Yokohama's were the best money I have spent on my car to date.

Saw a pristine EK9 driven by a 40yr old, a DC5 by a bloke in a suit and an FD2 with some damage all within 10mins, all in CW on the epic streets of Kyoto.

Type-Rs over here in their home are porn driven by porn heros.

I want to live here with my DC2 and have a Mines Skyline as my fun car :(:):)

Sayonara
