Type R and VTEC owners

I wouldn't bother with FI on the K20, the rods are thin, very thin! Yes people do it and people get away with it but I'd be extremely hesitant. If you want boost, get a car that has boost in the first place.

Giving it so much road presence

nobody drives a civic type r for its road presence. you drive a mustang or an AMG merc for that.

you buy a civic type r for fast road and track usage...

Giving it so much road presence, means only one thing, when is the FI happening? :D

I'm with rjk, it's a Civic, not an AMG Black! And if all these styling bits were not purcahsed, I'm sure he could have FI'd and mapped it by now with those funds ;)

All I see are pictures of it at home/office, always looking immaculate and always with new Mugen styling bits.

Get the poor thing out onto some decent A/B roads, get some dirt on her bodywork, get some photos and vids up of the car being enjoyed. Poor thing is crying inside if the above hasn't been happening!!!!

:)

I'm dreaming again, It was the FD2/Euro R, now its Ek9s, What are they like? Are they still worth buying?

Still very nice, but have a scene tax attached to them. Get a DC2 and save your pennies :D:D

I do go out for on the jollies with it at the weekend, got a cam so I can have some fun recording it. The only problem I have is that I dont like dirty cars so it gets washed weekly, polished fortnightly and waxed probably every 6 weeks.

It would have probably had the 450bhp+ TDI turbo kit on it by now if I hadnt messed about.

LSD, BBK, TDI Turbo kit, exhaust + map - £7500

Body parts, alloys, intake, intake header, exhaust header, exhaust, mapping, sispension mods + what ever other things I have done that I have forgotten about has come to circa £6000...

My faith in you is restored :D

Meh, I'm not a TDI man, I'd rather go to Will @ RDT, he's the man :D

You've done plenty though, don't just spend money it for spendings sake. We've all been down that road, just think of the next upgrade car wise rather than trying to polish a highly strung Honda where the £ vs Performance Ratio is pretty crap.

Well I spent £820 on a Double Din and Fitting kit today :o

Purchase Justification syndrome kicked in.. my only argument is that I've been looking for a new Sat Nav for a while, and I hate the stock Civic Stereo!

Should go from this

I've gone for the AVIC-F950BT

Are you fitting it yourself or getting someone to do it for you for that price?

Sent you a PM on Civinfo about my car btw TaKeN....still waiting to see what the insurers want to do with it :(

Fitting it myself! Ended up getting the Double Din for £599.95 , and went for the OEM Honda Facia Kit @ £220 with a set of Bojo Professional trim removal tools thrown in.

Spending that much on a fitting kit makes me weep.. but, the cheaper Connects2 facia version doesn't fit the dash perfectly, it's a poor finish/match compared to OEM, and then Headunit won't sit quite as far back as the Honda facia.

Thanks for the PM, Insurers seem to be taking their time! keep me updated please, I want that LSD and Gearbox :D

Ahah. I see where that going. Good move taken.

Hope.things are going well for you Will. Any updates from your insurers mate?

So I've decided not to claim on my insurance for my Type R seeing as I don't want to lose my no claims that I have built up over the last 5 years nor do I fancy paying more on insurance next year, getting a traders policy is hard enough as it is in Manchester.

I've decided to break the car, it'll take a bit of time but I should be able to recover all my money as I got the car at trade price aswell.

After resetting the fuel cut of switch today, the car started up straight away and the engine/gearbox is perfectly fine :D

premier seats are worth £500+

thats what i paid for mine and mine were cheap.
i would hold out for 650 if you are in no rush to sell. good ones don't come up often.

steering wheel and carpet are worth 120 & 100 respectively.

i just sold my stock EP3 gearbox for £180. you will probably be looking at around a grand for the K20 depending what sort of condition its all in.

they are the things that will probably sell first.
