Type R and VTEC owners

I am with markerstudy via greenlight also, I am actually really interested to hear how they handle this.

Greenlight have been nothing short of excellent since i have been with them. very keen to help and always have a good chat with them about things whenever i have called. obviously [touch wood] never had to deal with them for anything other than policy changes or other enquires so it would be nice to hear how efficient they are at getting you back to a favourable position Will.

also Will, your box will be worth a bit more than that mate, I paid £700 for a DC5 box so a box with an Mfactory diff should be worth at least £100 more.

Greenlight have been great to deal with on the phone, if slightly disorganised from the admin side. There was a slight issue I had with the recovery firm who were trying to charge me directly for recovery, as Greenlight initially declined to pay, saying they did not have a contract with this recovery firm...despite Greenlight being the ones who put me through on the phone to this exact same recovery firm whilst I was stuck on the side of the M6. A quick phonecall to Greenlight and this was all sorted out very quickly and efficiently.

Markerstudy, well thus far they have been a little slow, I was initially promised a courtesy car but have not heard anything more beyond the promise of a car once mine has been taken to their storage facility. Being on holiday over the past few days I haven't actually needed a car, nor do I need one for where I am working at present...so I have held off from nagging them, its not something I have needed at all, but had I needed a vehicle it would have been a pain.

The engineer/assessor rang me today, had a quick chat about valuation, he seems clearlt trying to knock the price down as much as possible as expected, but also did not seem fully aware of the modifications. He values the car at £8k as is but then we got to discussing the modifications, as he did not seem aware of the mods.

He seemed a bit put out once I discussed everything I had done to the car, querying whether I would be covered without having declared the modifications , now I would have been put out too but this were it not for the policy documents I had to hand with all the mods listed one by one. I suspect Greenlight have not yet passed over the list of mods, or at least if they have done, the engineer has not yet been provided with them.

I left with telling the Markerstudy assessor/engineer to contact Greenlight again and get the modification details and come back to me...I also spoke to Greenlight and the and the guy read off all my mods from his computer, so I know I'm covered, and have the documents to prove it, its just annoying that they don't seem to have all the info to hand already.

Hmm. That is irritating.

Kind of expected that tbh. Here's hoping they sort the mod list. Mine is extensive and quite detailed meaning I should be more than covered if the worst happened. I anticipated them trying to ignore your mods sadly.

I dont need a car so I'm quite happy to haggle over price with them if need be. I have a shed load of documentation for my car, invoices for mods, servicing, recent tyre purchases etc and have looked at the honda used car site to find many similar mileage bog standard examples as mine up for around 9k or high 8s.

I should add that the assessor did not seem at all up on the car, unlike the guys at greenlight on the phone, he noticed the red induction hose as a mod and asked about that, but didn't comment on non standard brakes, wheels, ride height etc which would be far more obvious (and all are declared should he get the full details from the broker). He also said he read the mileage off the clocks as 11k, which was wrong, he was reading the miles since last reset 'trip b' on the obc (1100 ish), not total mileage, I was honest and pointed out it had actually done 40k and this seemed to throw him again and obviously would impact upon his valuation. He said he was genuinely surprised it had come through Greenlight and that normally Adrian Flux is the only company they deal with who puts policies through to them for more specialist/more highly modified cars...

Gave my mates CTR a spruce up yesterday, he's away working and his fiancé wanted it spotless for his return. Shame really, its mechanically perfect and fully maintained by Honda but the car has been neglected cosmetically and it shows :(

Wax has been buffed off and tyre shine just applied here :)

What's the deal with the big camber mismatch front to rear on these? They all seem to look like that, I was sad enough to look it up and there is meant to be 0F 0'45"R, that looks more like a couple degrees difference though.

Also as you can see the water has got under one of the silver door strips. There appears to be a laminate outter surface where the water has gone underneath, should/can this be removed so I can clean under and get all the dirt out or will it ruin the strip and I need a new one?

Got some proper fail going on with mine, when I turn on the AC it turns on the rad fan for the engine. Had a look at the wiring and all the trunking has been spliced open already and from what I can see the AC system is wired upto the correct fan! So it's auto leccy time to fix it.

It only became apparent at Llandow when it couldn't cool itself in the pits and the temp moved off the middle, quick 10min road drive and some hot wiring saw me fine for the rest of the day but I'll just have to pre-wire this time so I can manually power on both fans at Combe :/

The gear stick surround has a plastic collar under the faux leather that you can't see. It pulls up, and should lock into a recess/ring on your gear stick shaft.

Have you tried pulling it up?

I baited for a retort about my rattly rusty old Acura.... Dissapointed :D

Forum friends helping, awesome :)

Or he could just remove the system and save some grammes!

I think it's these relays:

hbv2aoq.jpg

Pas Side
1. Condenser fan relay
2. A/C Compressor relay

So one must work as the condenser fires up fine and the other for the fan could be blown (why it's an £80 relay for a 12v fan I have no idea). So I'll try swapping to confirm that, then find a breaker...

Then do my best to run wires from the fan switch to the errr fan.
