Type R and VTEC owners

Fingers crossed tomorrow my sills get welded on the eg6 and I can MOT it/drive it again as it's been over month now and I can't take driving a 206/picanto for much longer!

Are you fitting it yourself or getting someone to do it for you for that price?

Sent you a PM on Civinfo about my car btw TaKeN....still waiting to see what the insurers want to do with it :(

who were you insured with mate?

My supra incident was fairly quick, a first offer of £2500 was declined and I had to send them all my service history/paperwork and links to similar cars for sale before I got my full £8000 of them.

Insurer was elephant.

Nooby q...

A set of Rota Force alloys have come up for sale locally.
17 x 8
5 x 114.3
ET35.
Would these fit on an ATR without issue?

I'm reading all sorts of conflicting reports on the standard ATR alloy offset being ET55. Anyone know?

/edit

Standard offset is ET55 for the ATR, looks like it's a no go.

premier seats are worth £500+

thats what i paid for mine and mine were cheap.
i would hold out for 650 if you are in no rush to sell. good ones don't come up often.

steering wheel and carpet are worth 120 & 100 respectively.

i just sold my stock EP3 gearbox for £180. you will probably be looking at around a grand for the K20 depending what sort of condition its all in.

they are the things that will probably sell first.

Yup I'm aware of that, I should be able to recover some good money.

After resetting the fuel cut of switch, the car started up on first turn of the key. :)

Hope.things are going well for you Will. Any updates from your insurers mate?

Cheers :)

Insurers officially confirmed it is a total loss today, they have been a little slow but I have been on holiday so its not really bothered me really, if I had a car I wouldnt have used it at all over the past 5 days.

I missed the engineer/assessor calling me today and tried to ring back today, no answer but I'll try and get back to him tomorrow. No doubt they want details of history, price and so on.

I'm insured with Greenlight/Markerstudy. I'm happy to haggle over price, I don't need a car for work at the moment which is handy.

I really really wish I could get it back as salvage and break the car for parts but I don't have storage space or anything, if I sold bits off it it'd fetch decent money and almost certainly put me in a better position than accepting a payout.

I have had a few people message me asking for bits already. I have an uncle who works for a garage up Stoke way, if I get a salvage price I might have a word and see what we can sort out...! Andrew Moore and TaKeN can then fight over the gearbox :D. I will keep people updated by posting here.

I'm thinking if I broke it:

Wheels/tyres - £6-700? Got Conti CSC5s on them with less than 2k miles
Gearbox with MFactory diff - £600?
Seats/interior - £500?
Milltek exhaust (if undamaged, need to have a proper look) - £250?
Mugen suspension - Less than 1k miles use, still look like new - £500?
Rear boot spoiler - £200 odd?
Side skirts, mirror caps will sell too...

I have a Flashpro to sell, two sets of Type R mats, rear boot mat protector, the spare wheel (not factory fit) I took out as well...so will make some money back on those. Also have a carbon K20 spark plug cover, and a tegiwa engine bay bolt set to sell, and the original Type R grill which I replaced with the Mugen repro one.

As for replacing it...that will depend what sort of insurance quotes I get on other cars. What sort of insurance price hike did you see Nath, after the second Supra accident, compared to the first?

Nope.. must get it done really :/

A proper fast road set up was a revelation on my car, got some camber bolts and everything adjusted properly and the steering was miles better! Such a big improvement, previously I have been a little sceptical of everyone going on about GEO, but it was very very noticable.

It was but it was all taken apart for eibachs and never reset. Standard bolts went in as to not play the guessing game with the eibach camber units. Need to get them back in and the camber adjusted again.

I am with markerstudy via greenlight also, I am actually really interested to hear how they handle this.

Greenlight have been nothing short of excellent since i have been with them. very keen to help and always have a good chat with them about things whenever i have called. obviously [touch wood] never had to deal with them for anything other than policy changes or other enquires so it would be nice to hear how efficient they are at getting you back to a favourable position Will.

also Will, your box will be worth a bit more than that mate, I paid £700 for a DC5 box so a box with an Mfactory diff should be worth at least £100 more.

I have a Civic 2006 1.8 EX. It's completely standard at the mo. Are there any air flow mods available? Would doing that help the engine breath a little better?
