Type R and VTEC owners

Insurance payout agreed for my car - 8700. Will also make around 700 quid by selling of various bits - flashpro, type r mats, spare wheel kit, grill, boot protector etc (I property emptied it after the accident!)

The salvage price was very high, they wanted 3450 for it! So not sure it would be financially viable for me to break it for parts. Down the line I can see someone making money off bits of it but I dont think you'd make profit quickly on that salvage price! Especially with potential gearbox damage.

I fancy an mx5 next, cue the hairdresser comments!

Muffin, sorry to read about the problems with your Teg, you must be gutted.

Will, I honestly think that's a decent deal.

Nice to see it resolved quickly

An mx5 is probably a solid choice too.

You are spending 11k cash on a car but are worried how you are going to get rid of a estimated £500 car.

Find the car you like, put deposit down. Put shed on eBay on a few days auction. Use your shed to go fetch your new pride and joy. Sell shed to the winning bidder.

Simples.

Tbh, with the new type r coming out soon, get a clean 07/08 example and save a heap of cash. Unless you absolutely have to have one with an LSD etc then its just paying a load more money for a later reg plate.

Pistonheads and auto trader should be your primary hunting ground. Also get on civinfo and look at enthusiast owned cars for sale.

Thanks both for the advice.

Found a nice low mileage 08 example on Sunday private, 1 owner from new etc, only about 10 miles from my location. Happened to appear on Pistonheads only an hour before my search.

Finished touching up my shed, banged it on Ebay on Monday at 8pm at 700 but willing to take 500, got an offer at 8am Tues ,car collected by 11am :) Based on previous shed selling experiences, this was quite brilliantly smooth and fast.

Finally got the FN2 today despite Santanders best efforts to play havoc with the so called Fast Payment System of bank transfer over the last 2 days.

A very happy FN2 owner, cheers.

Welcome to the fold!!!!

I still won't wave to you, other FN2 or EP3 drivers though, miserable sods never wave back and look confused as they're trying to figure out what my C/W Teg is :p

I have started waving at other hondas.

most people wave back.

i thumbs upped a guy in a cosmic grey ep3 on saturday morning who lost his **** and took his hands off the wheel to wave like crazy.

I don't wave at Andrew Moore though. :p

I got the thumbs up this morning from you :p

Never gave thumbs up to other hondas unless they did it first, ep3 ctrs and fn2rs are ten a penny here....used to get countless thumbs up when the car was modified, as stock it was ignored by everyone! The fn2 got chav attention too, I remember someone yelling 'sick car blud!!!!' at me one time in Birmingham :o

In the fiesta st I used to get loads of waves/thumbs up from other fast Ford owners, way more noticed than in the honda, usually it was those in older cars though, pretty much every cossie, rs turbos, old xr3is etc...they all seemed to appreciate

In an mx5 I will ignore everyone I think!!

Just dropped the Accord off at Grinspeed for major service and some other bits, 50 mile round trip and pick it up tomorrow, hope its worth it they came highly recommended if anyone wants feedback let me know

Grinspeed are decent, everyone I have spoken to who uses them says Stevie is great to deal with and always does a proper job. A guy I know travels up from Birmingham to them to get most work done on his FN2...there are closer places but he has had the best service by far from them.

In other news...going to view a nice Mk3 MX5 on Saturday.
