Type R and VTEC owners

No still irreverent due to lols about MUGEN 4 EVA!!!!1111 Saw a DC5 today, was the blue one and it had black wheels and a carbon bonnet, looked ****e*. Can anyone explain why the FD2 wasn't popular in Japan or is that just made up internet talk?

Rover Accords?

The Accord Type R was hardly slow, not sure how he made a CTR go 'backwards' in it given they are broadly similar but...

Lightened fly, flowed injectors etc etc, my car was properly quick. I still theink the 7sec time of 0-60 is wrong. They seem much quicker. Especially once 3rd and 4th gear are in VTEC.

It looks just like a rover. You don't even need to know it shared the parts etc to see that. Plus, its performance figures are similar to that of a fiesta ST which many consider to be a 'warm' hatch.

Its a second slower to 60 than an EP3

There you go ^

I wasn't aware of (didn't care about) the specifics buy knew it was the case.

I wonder if a rover 200 is more JDM than an EP3 then? :p

Infact if I remember rightly the ATR was way way quicker than Honda published, it was under-stated, I believe when EVO tested the ATR all those years ago 0-60 was 6.1s and 1/4 in 14.8s, quicker than Honda's official figures!

If I remember right Skywalker from here used to own one, with a few bolt on mods he was doing 5.9s and low 14s quarter miles I think.

Make an EP3 look like its going backwards, no, more like different driver abilities.

The accord was basically a rover 600

Honda and Rover share a load of parts. The mk2 rover 200 has the same rear suspension as a DC2

That was the the 5th gen, not the 6th gen, the ATR is completely different car to the 600!

There is not a lot of difference between the ATR and CTR, the ATR is a much better drive IMO, and the 0-60 willy waving times are minimal when you compare the size and weight of the vehicles. People who think the ATR is tame should drive one, they are fantastic cars and highly rated amongst those who know about them.

Muffin` thats the thing. I was thinking about S2k Prelude or some nissan s13/s14.
But just could not resist to get ITR i got at the moment. When I had a look on parts spec ect.
I KNEW I NEED IT got loan next day :P
My mates with sporty cars are like: I got sports car you got race car :D

I love my DC2 !!!! And by looks of it Muffin loves hes to :D. I know its old and its seen to much of track time. Hell each time i drive it after 3 years its still so much fun !!!!

Kind of a Love/Hate relationship with mine

I admire people who are passionate about their cars. IF I could own a DC2, I would. My problem now is, most cars which are for sale seem like sheds, and the one's which are decent, command a high premium which I don't think is worth it.

I miss ATR ownership, I would like another. It's just most are either getting broken now, or complete sheds. I feel the maintenance of it is rather high, even though they're generally reliable. I cba with it.

I always saw bledd as the die hard Zealot amongst the DC2'ers.

I sit back and just read most of the time :p, never jump in to defend it like -Ad- :)

Wanted one since Gran Turismo 1, got to drive one about 8 years ago, then REALLY wanted one since, so waited until I was 25

It's treated me well over the years.

My total cost of ownership (including 5500 for buying it) and all tax/insruance/parts/work done/petrol is ~£20000 now, for ~30000 miles ~4.5 years

I went for a civic 1.8 vtec, 42,000 miles, 2007 £5200.

Gear stick is quite worn, will want it changed, they easy to do? Are they the same as type Rs?

I'm right though :p

I've driven far too many cars and I just want to be back in my DC2 as soon as I set off in something else. I really am in love with the thing, it's just pure driving nirvana and costs peanuts to maintain!

I'm such the fanboi :(:D
