Type R and VTEC owners

Nope. Its been a great car, but I'm done with hot hatches now. Way I see it, there isn't a hot hatch with performance/value that rivals the EP3.

It will be greatly missed though. Best car I've ever owned.

can you please show me a £2000 FN2?

Lets face it a £2000 EP3 will be a dog, unless you get the odd gem. £3k for a EP3 is worth it all day long. £3k for a FN2 not so much.

I agree with an EP3 being best bang for the buck hot hatch. It's not that old and handles fine. Not a speck on the integra/accord type-r but neither is any of the competition.

I am really feeling the need for some more Vtec.

Personally I like the FN2's but I've never driven one, have driven a decent amount of EP3's so might go and take one out. As much as I love EP3's they're getting on now and a nice low mile kitted out FN2 may be a better option for me. I don't hoof it much so it's just for those mad few mins when I fancy getting on it :)

Will have a look about this weekend!

The FN2 is an odd one, as a day to day ownership prospect its good, comfy seats, nice interior design, well equipped, very practical and spacious and fairly refined in every way except the suspension. A decent daily drive but not good enough as a genuine drivers car. The engine and gearbox are great. Handling though.....not keen as standard, felt heavy and understeery. Fit lsd and mugen suspension and mugen geo settings with camber bolts though....was one hell of a transformation, like a different car after that but then I suppose it should be given money spent. The mugen M20 was raved about despite the underpinnings - i could see why with similar chassis tweaks on my car. Brakes....not good at all, lacked bite for me even with uprated pads, lines and fluid. It's not that light a car and they never felt powerful.

Love mine now. removed most of my mods but the ones I have are great. As Will said, brakes were not great, I did a cheap upgrade to braided brake lines, Brembo discs, DS2500 pads and Castrol SRF.
I also had a FRS done but on standard everything, this gave me a lot more confidence in the corners and the difference was night and day. I am not a person who would ever appreciate a 'true drivers' car so maybe I'm easier pleased than some.
Other than that I upgraded the ICE and that is it now. Love it as a daily driver for the occasional squirt, not interested, nor is it possible to drive at breakneck speeds during my commute times so for me it's a win. I love the interior and Im happy to finally have a car with air con and other nice bits. Overall I'm really glad I didn't go for an EP3 because for me a nicer interior means more to me on a daily commute than independent suspension and a better placed gearknob would.

After owning several EP3's (6 in total :P), I've currently got a FN2 and for a everyday car, I wouldn't go back to an EP3. I've got another EP3 right now as you know but still drive my FN2 everyday.

I last drove an fn2 about 2/3 years ago when I bought the fk3 but went to look at and test drive a champ white one today.

I was hugely disappointed in it tbh, not sure if its because I've become accustomed to the 330 or if its more related to the asking price of one.

Last time I drove one I thought it was nippy, great fun and convinced myself I could notice the lsd, today it just felt like it was decidedly average tbh, wasnt as engaging as i remember, I sat too high even with the seat down and I just couldn't get excited by it for the 12k Honda want for the car.

Doesn't help that it had been serviced by some random garage its whole life, had rusted chips on the crap paint and the typical rust between windscreen and roof seal.

Tbh at 5 to say 8k I can still see the appeal, but 10k plus is buying you some much more impressive machinery nowadays.

I agree with you there, I would never spend £12k on a FN2, to be honest, I wouldn't spend more than £7.5k on one. I got mine very cheap and I think I'm in a good enough position to compare them to EP3's as I've owned quite a few including a premier edition.

Mines got 1 previous owner, serviced at honda all it's life and very good condition for it's age. :)
