Type R and VTEC owners

I think an S2K is next on my list, always loved them. Giving me some inspiration to sort it out and get some money in the bank for it in the next year :)

DC5 booked in to get the exhaust swapped on Tuesday morning, provided that the bodyshop work goes ahead on Monday and gets completed! Might even be able to get it in the end of this week fingers crossed!

S2000 let me down last night, wouldn't start after a weekend at airport. Only the second time it broke down, first time was the OEM battery. This battery was one in my parents garage from Jonny's old DC2 teg.

New OEM y0 battery on route. Also on Friday the FN3 is having its 75k service, £440 ?!

Think I paid £250 from an Indy for my 75k service on the fk3 so I'd expect Honda to be a Max of £100 more.

I did find Honda very willing to drop their price though, just by asking

By way of some sort of comparison I've just had prices for the fn2's 75k from Honda at £500 and the same Indy at £350 inc all the clearance checks etc. Honda are willing to drop 10% which puts it in the circa £100 more bracket

Thanks. The problem is the £100 diesel filter surcharge and it also needs gearbox oil change. Honda Swindon knocked £70 off for me supplying engine oil so that helps.

Its still under warranty to want to try and keep FHSH, not that I care but the next owners may.

Local fitter got back to me regarding tyres for my S2000:

Hi Chris

Thank you for the email

I have had a check around & I can get a pair of both at present & prices are as follows

215/45/17 RE50MZ = £230inc pair fitted

245/40/17 RE50MZ = £260inc pair fitted

Just come back to us if you would like to order

Kind Regards

Is that reasonable? I don't need the fronts yet, but rears need doing soon.

I don't remember this being any issue when I got mine done...surely a surcharge is just that and refunded? Not sure £70 off for your own oil sounds like any sort of brilliant deal, it'll be £50-60 for you to buy anyway (retail at least)?

TBH I'm in a similar boat, the car has full honda history (though no warranty) and I'd feel terrible breaking it....but Honda never fill me with confidence whenever they do any work and I know the specialist is spot on, well regarded throughout the UK & probably the best in Scotland so I've got a decision to make soon.

Do want.

Can someone put a value on a 2003 Civic Type R, 45k on the clock with FHSH? Just wondering what would be considered overpriced? Its from a main dealer and comes with a possibly not necessary 1 year warranty!
