Type R and VTEC owners

If you're referring to loltim then to me it looked like him just preferring RDT rather than this Mase guy, without any discreditation in there.

e!

Yep - I knew Will before RDT when he used to build engines in his parents shed, he's a personal friend who I'd trust with my car. I wasn't digging at Mase.

Would be interesting to have a chat with Will re: Mase though, see what he thinks.

Spoke to the Honda specialist near me, £391 for 6th year service and possibly cheaper. They said if my mileage is significantly lower than 75k (40k) then I don't really need to replace the mileage dependent items like spark plugs.
That's that sorted then. Stuff the stamps.

Like to see what he thinks about my engine rebuild, I'm wanting an s300 long term and he's the man I be going to for it

I'd just do them anyway tbh, if I looked at the car and you'd said it had full history, then I looked at what had been done and they were missed it would make me wonder about the rest of the car.

Everyone has their favorite mapper and reasons for choosing. Steve Mason (Mase) has turned a few of my friends Honda builds around, correcting maps by UK tuners that weren't so good. My Evo had a map on from a reputable UK tuner and I wasn't happy so I took it to Mase and watched him work. The car made +50 or so BHP in the middle of the rev range, and I think 410 at the fly compared to 370 before peak power. The car came on boost cleaner, quicker and better than before, idles nicer and it felt like an OEM tuned map.

I know most will say there isn't much point in mapping standard cars, but from what I have read, Honda have done a pretty decent job of the standard S2000 intake and exhaust and there aren't many great gains to be had by putting on £800 JDM items. All I'm looking for is an improvement in the middle of the band and maybe better MPG. We shall see how the tune goes as it progresses.

True enough, as I have receipts for everything else then it doesn't make sense to scrimp, not that there is a lot to change on the car bar fluids, valve clearances have always been on time.

@MilanoChris. Looking good, is that your own workshop? I'd kill for space like that.

Awesome. I know of him through Nez who had his hillimb B18 built by him, and what a beast it was. Seems the reputation is well deserved as he is a wizard with Hondas in general, but really seems to excel when boating them.

I'm fairly sure I recommended him before you went ahead and got it rebuilt. Y U NO LISTEN:p

Let me know if you drive up to Donny, I'll pop in for a chat and reminisce about B series front wheel drive classics;)

Im planning on fitting an AUX port to my 2006 Civic, I have looked into it and bought all the gubbins required. I intent to install a fixed Aux in port like which is found in most cars. I prefer this idea rather than having an aux cable that plugs directly into a media device coming from a gap in the center console. Question is where to install the port:

A. In the back of the little cubby above the Gear stick
B. In one of the blanks where the switches for the heated seats would be.

Anyone done this before?

Run it to the bin at the handbrake.

There are two grommets there either of which you can remove and stick the port in.

That's what I done with the xcarlink - though its location was also partly due to the bulky box

Quite liked the new R from the adverts, saw the photos from Goodwood and I've gone totally opposite. I don't think it looks great at all. I'd rather have a boring understated Golf than that thing.

Will's paintshop I'm guessing?

The area where the car is is mainly used for storage and race car prep. The ramp the car is on in the picture is the geo ramp.

Sorry if I have missed it but what's going on with the car? A check and tidy up because its new to you?

Just having some bits painted to tidy the car up. It's been parked at the side of the road in London and has some scuffs on. All taken into the price I paid. It should be near immaculate all round when I get it back.

Nice - staying mostly stock?
