Type R and VTEC owners

See if honda can lend you one for a day. You'll probably like it but it won't be charasmatic like the fd2. I prefer character rather then all out performance personally.
I've driven one round Rockingham and on the road. Very capable car, nice place to be, fast but maybe a bit too easy on circuit.

To me it's like an Evo IX and FD2 mated.

Sounds like an O2 sensor, pretty common to go around 60-100k miles on Honda petrols. Don't be tempted with cheap replacements, some last days, weeks and if you're lucky you'll get a few years out of them. Genuine Honda ones last the longest.

I don't get buying a sporty car and then putting on mid range tyres. They are the single thing that keeps you on the road and affects the feel and handling more than any other item.

My DC5 has a load of suspension mods, remap, mugen twin loop, tegiwa carbon filter and all that so I don't think the FD2 makes much sense for me. I don't doubt it's a fantastic car though. Just don't think it's worth the cost over my already sorted DC5.
My DC5 had B16 coilovers, big brake kit, plated diff, shorter FD, Mugen intake, DC race header, RM01A exhaust, map etc etc. Standard FD2 is better (with the exception of my uprated diff and brakes). By the time you sell your mods it's not going to cost twice as much to upgrade.

Everything is better bar the outside looks and perhaps seating position.

I was lucky to own both for a month and drove them back to back.

Just feel for me the FD2 is not a viable option. I don't particularly like the looks and don't feel it would be enough of a change/upgrade to warrant the cost for what will be a very similar car, albeit maybe slightly better.
That's fair enough but don't be under the illusion that the FD2 is only slightly better than the DC5. It's much, much better. Every area is like an extra 10-20% improvement which all adds up. The cornering speed is stupid really, even on standard suspension.

A lot of money on a track only car? I prefer the old NA engines as you have to work really hard for the performance. The FK2 is great to drive though.

The FD2 barely gets used and I'm fed up of the battery always being flat. So I bought a solar trickle charger as well as a mains charger. I've just taken the battery out and left it on charge. Hopefully no more issues after this!

Haha. It's just because of the stupidly wide tyres that are on it, they catch now and again so until the GT1's are fitted and it's set up fully, I don't really want to use it too much.
