Type R and VTEC owners

Battery back in now and the car starts fine (not that I would expect otherwise). I've also attached the solar panel trickle charger to it so I'm hoping that it will keep it topped up and I won't have nay more issues.

I've also noticed I have three other batteries in the garage - an old Diesel Focus one, the old FD2 one and one which I bought for the Evo about 2-3 years ago but it's got the fatter terminals on it so wasn't any use. Are they worth enough to bother selling?

Also, someone asked earlier if both fans are on, yes, they are. As soon as ignition is on, both fans start blowing. That's not right, surely?

Sorry, my point is to turn your A/C off, then see if they're still on. Or is your AC stuck on?

I never switch it off. I have a day off tomorrow so if it's dry I'll take the car out for a blast and see if it does it with the A/C off.

Easy way to test the AC relay is use a 9v battery over the two smaller terminals, you should hear a click from the relay. Also you can test for continuity over the two larger pins. But to be honest the fan control is before this relay anyways.

Also yes if the AC is on then both fans should be running, even with the engine off and the key at position 2.

Do you know about this website? That has the Honda manual on it for the FN2 which may help. I have to use internet explorer on it.

Cheers.

Woo, yay etc.

My brake discs have arrived, so I'll hopefully be dropping the car off at TGM this weekend to have the following done in the next few weeks:

Fit/setup:
- Meister R GT1
- Brembo 6 pot calipers
- 355mm two piece discs
- Pagid RS29 pads
- Goodridge Braided lines
- Uprated fluid

Along with a new alternator belt, fresh engine oil & gearbox oil plus friction modifier to try and quieten the diff.

Let us know how you get on with the Pagid RS29s, I imagine mine will need changing soon-ish and I'm currently on DS2500.

I've used them before and they're phenomenal. So much so I really don't see any reason in trying anything else. A few mates with similar cars also feel the same. They're in a completely different league to DS2500 which are one of the most over-hyped pads going.

New discs/calipers fitted to the FD2.

FD2 is a much better car.

Posted in the Show us your motors thread but I figure it fits here too.

Nürburgring visit last week for a short holiday with a mate. Annoyingly it was high 30's so pretty unbearable with hardly any shade where you want it and no air con in the house!

Mine and his car (M2 LCI) at the house sunbathing.

The view from my room. I mainly go out there for the scenery, vibe and to chill out now, the track has become more of a secondary interest. Even the GP circuit was only configured for the short track, boo!

Everyone does this now, right?

We tried to stay in the searing heat at Brunchen to watch the instruction that was going on, we had to walk up the hill to get in the shade. It was unbearable without shade!

Obligatory on track pic. My time only around 9 minutes as I don't really push it on the 'ring and with the track temperature being close to 60 degrees the AD08R's were starting to struggle a little. Lots of tyre wear over one lap compared to say when it's 20 degrees so I didn't fancy doing too many laps at 25 Euros a pop. I do have a second pic I bought but they've not sent it though yet, will add later.

On to Bruges (if you haven't been, go!) while my mate went to the F1, I think the car was relieved to be underground for a few days!

And back in the garage. I'll be bringing it out again this week or this weekend to give it a good wash. And while it's out, I'll sort the garage out as it seems to be breeding clutter in there.
