Type R and VTEC owners

Besides the LSD, is there any other differences between a regular FN2R and a CW Edition FN2R?

Nothing worth writing home about.
They have aux cord, usb and an extra 12v socket in the centre console and were all GT-spec (auto wipers/lights/cruise control etc).

For what its worth, all FN2s built after April 2010 have the LSD and centre console stuff. But be careful there as some 2009 cars could've not been registered until 2010 etc.
Or you can buy an LSD for about £5-600.

I wish I could shake the idea of a DC5...

I love my ST to bits and it's at where I want it to be but I still lust after a DC5. My mileage has dropped considerably since moving offices and I feel like I would love a low mileage facelift DC5. Think the only thing stopping me is the hassle of selling mine and finding the right one. There is one on piston heads that is a low miler facelift in Ireland and it makes me weak at the knees. :(

I'm not sure I'd miss the torque of my ST with the scream of VTEC.

Yes it will under steer less in normal road conditions and pull you out of corners and roundabouts. They are definitely worth it.

Not sure how that applies to someone not driving like an idiot on the roads but thanks for the explanation.

Even in normal driving they make a difference. It's possibly the best modification you can make.

Well glad I got one then.

If you never drive the car hard then why bother buying a Type R?

It's a practical car with a modest amount of power, not a sportscar. Never said I didn't anyway, just didn't see the benefit on the daily commute.

I've filled my quota of boring cars, cant afford a fun weekend one as well. I think any car used daily becomes boring regardless of what it is.

When it's an empy road however it's a different story.

No you said 'on the road '

Yes I've not missed having an LSD in any other car from driving on the road, where you going with this?

Am I supposed to drive like a pleb because I have a Honda in order to fit in?

Semantics aside, I mean to say that I don't see how an LSD helps in any way when driving to work and back with the usual traffic, perhaps if the roads were empty and one was taking the corners as fast as they could then yes. That doesn't mean I want a boring car, not that the FK2 is particualy exciting but then it's a good practical car and cheap to run.

Well when you put it like that. Would that explain why I get barely any wheel spin compared to my fn2 which had a lot less torque?
Or does it have no affect in that scenario?

If you are getting more grip then it's likely to be due to the diff.

Normally the wheel with least grip spins up. With a limited slip you limit wheel slip and the power goes to the wheel withmore grip. Works all the time, not just on a track
