Type R and VTEC owners

We had Nathan stating he was gonna do it and Spie rolled in that it was the best idea ever conceived

Not that Spie has the best ideas for anything

I remember the Cafe Racer thread well. The option I'm talking about was a factory option you chose when you configured the car! Guess it reality it just went to Mugen rather than PDI at the dealer.

As i see it. SUPERCHARGER is way to go with Honda's slam one on maybe wont be as fast as turbo but will be more relileable and still drives like honda without massive turbo lag :D

Went to get some Corn Flakes and Rice Krispies, had a bit of a mind f today. :p First I thought, so many spaces and some D head parked right next to me. Then, I saw one car and tried to get into the one in the middle and couldn't. That was when I realized, that there're 3 satin silver EP2's. :D

He left OcUK. Same as myself.

I don't post on the forums much anymore but do read them a bit.

Note sure he bothers with it at all. He's doing very well and his GT86 has all of its features and benefits explained to me in vast detail regularly.

There was a lot of hoops to jump through as well. The CRZ wasn't a great seller hence the early EOL in our region. The SC kits from mugen were all snapped up by tuners like TDI who were the ones fitting them. You could either order one on the car or if you missed that window then you had to fit one as an aftermarket addition. As with any supercharger for a honda you're in the realms of 5k.

The performance wasn't a huge leap either, short of 200bhp for a huge investment. When you could trade in a CRZ for a k20 powered car easily and spend the same for circa 350 bhp. It doesn't make much financial sense. The only advantage Nath had was his mugen kit which made the car very unique but selling a supercharger CRZ would be a right pita. I remember he showed me a black one in Scotland that was originally supplied as a supercharged mugen car with the mugen wheels etc and it was £20k

At the time that was focusRS/FD2/EVO/STI money etc.

Don't get me wrong, I would go forced induction on my S2k in a heart beat but it's currently trying to cripple me financially with all of the interesting and exciting age related challenges it keeps presenting me with.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that spending big on a huge power upgrade is only worth it when you have something significantly powerful to start with and the gains are significant enough to justify.

The CRZ is a riot to drive though, I would have one as a daily without hesitation. Such an interesting car.

Looong story. Most of it is on S2Ki.

To summarise.

Sent it in for an alignment. Shock as every bolt on the lower wishbones was seized...

So got everything done using hardrace bushes. Changed the Toe arms for adjustable ones to get the setup right and resolve some issues with the stock arms too.

Added a set of AD08R and project mu pads all round too so I could get the most out of the bush/bolt refresh.

Lasted a week, heard a knocking sound over rough roads, checked under the car and the rear drivers side shock has blown out.

Was planning on doing a shock refresh soon as I was advised to by a friend who adjusted my suspension last year. After weighing up the options, I wanted to stay OEM but new Honda shocks were £2k. Decided on KW V1 as I wanted fit and forget suspension at as close to stock height as possible and wanted something that would perform well but would be an upgrade over stock. Will take the car a little lower but not much as I don't like the low low look.

The V1s are being built at the moment so waiting on that really. Plus the clutch could do with a refresh as the miles just ticked over 80k. The car is still very drivable other than the shocks. Clutch slipping only happens on fast full rev changes but I want to address it sooner rather than later.

It's all just age related expenses if you look at it logically but I'm trying to fix it by choosing parts that will complement the performance of the car whilst not being too far away from OEM spec.

Once that is done, I'm going to have a major service with all fluids changed, valve clearance etc etc and just enjoy it when the weather clears up a bit. Looking forward to getting back into it and enjoying the car when everything is factory fresh or as good as.

I did consider selling this year but I drove most of the stuff I would change it for and disliked it. The other stuff I would change it for is double the price so it made sense to invest in more years of making the car I really enjoy more exciting.

Ah seized bushes. I had that horror on mine and was over £1k in labour. I fitted Koni yellows which were perfect road shocks.

Not read s2ki in a while.

Know what you mean about comparisons. Nothing close in the price bracket and they will go up in value definitely.

I miss the feeling that car gave. Made you feel like a driving god when you got it right and was cheap to run

You still got yours Simon? What you in now if not?

I got lucky on the labour in fairness then. Around £650 all in which I didn't think was too horrendous. That was from TI Motorsport (part of tegiwa)

Really changed my opinion of them if I'm being honest, one of the best garages I have dealt with.

My silver one spun a rod at 180k miles. Got a blue 2001 which is standard but haven’t driven it much since Feb when I got the M3.

Ah not good. I guess a rebuild would just be uneconomical. Do you still have it or did you break/sell?

An M3 was on my list of replacement candidates. Was looking at e92s but after driving one I was a little disappointed. Is that what you have or do you have one of the new ones?

Yeh E92 V8. Competition pack version. Odd you didn’t like it, I find it very similar power deliver to the S2000.

Think it’s almost too fast for the road most the time but my first drive of one was on the track and they really need all the settings on to come alive.

S2000 is still in my parents garage where it was recovered to and I’ve not touched it since June 2016. Interior is minging but I need to get the decent bits off

Sorry didn't see your sig on my mobile. I did like it but it wasn't what I was looking for. Sounded fantastic and I enjoyed the power delivery but I didn't come away from it wanting more. Cant explain more than that.

Also, repair bills on my S2000 have been pretty crippling financially as I've had other things taking priority recently so making assumptions that an e92 bill would be significantly higher. Lovely cars but not something I feel compelled to pursue.

Other stuff I wouldn't feel bad about not having an S2000 over is mega money and just not viable at the moment.

I guess I've wanted an S2000 for so long (talking gran turismo 2 days) and it has met/exceeded all my expectations so well that after 4 years I'm still very happy in it hence spending big on improvement
