Type R and VTEC owners

Yup

For me, most cars come under £500 now after a bit of tweaking. My DC2 is ~£450, for an S2000 it's more like £1500!

Personally, I'd never spent over £700 on insurance, too big of a hit

What are your insurance quotes like for the S2000?
haven't checked recently and don't really care too much.

it was around 1100 last time I checked. but that was over 6 months ago and i have never gone to a specialist seeking a quote.

It's nothing to do with the BHP.

S2000s are notoriously expensive to insure anyway, a problem which is compounded by a bad post code.

was it Fox who said that an LP640 was cheaper for him to insure than an s2000? I tried myself a while ago and found the same rang true for me. mental really.

24, 6yrs driving, 6yrs NCB, 0 claims.

Honda S2000 - £713.83
EP3 - £503.50

my EP3 is around 600 to insure. 26, driving since 2004, clean record.

I have come to accept that higher insurance is simply a cost I will have to deal with when I get one.

Avoid mainstream insurers on an S2000, they will just deny business with wild quotations. Call some specialists direct.

Ignoring the JE post code for a moment Adrian Flux insure me through Groupama for £423 (Double checked), considering the vehicle is modified and declared on the policy I think it's a pretty good price. Even on much slower/cheaper/crappier cars I save very little in terms of insurance.

cheapest comparison site quote I can get is £849

I would call greenlight as I am currently with them but the S2000 is on their exclusion list.

What are the best companies to go with on these? Flux?

I'd be driving an EP3 again if it wasn't for the insurance. Modified MX5 = £1000, EP3 = ~£2000, ST220 = ~£1000

DR20 doesn't help matters, but I'm 27 with 5 years NCD in a "B" grade postcode (BB).

Insurance for me on the S2000 wasn't that bad, £100 cheaper than I paid last year on my WRX!

I am old at 31 but it was £360.

No economical cars in the channel islands then...!
