Tyre Nichols murder

You realise more US Cops were killed in America than Soldiers in Afghanistan during the 20 years the US was in Afghanistan? There's zero chance you'd be a Cop in the US, yet you want to tell them not to draw their guns when they're operating in some of the most dangerous cities in the world.
That old chestnut.

The biggest killer of US police is normally traffic accidents and heart attacks, often whilst they're heading into or home from work or whilst performing things like "pitt" manoeuvres when they get it wrong and don't kill passengers in the other vehicle (or random drivers in other cars that hit the overturned target car) , over the last few years it's been covid (odd how they'll shoot someone and claim they feared for their lives, but were actively refusing to take covid precautions).

IIRC policing isn't even the most dangerous job in terms of risk of being killed by criminals in the US, despite the cops being around them all the time (IIRC store clerks and taxi drivers have a higher death rate per capita).

I had to look it up, ranked...not top 10, not top 20.

Rnked 22. Article dated Nov 2020

108 Police officers killed in 2018.

7057 killed in Iraq & Afganistan. (yes I can see the suicide number)

I have a criminal record I still wouldn’t expect to be treated like that.

Please don’t take my comment in full context, I was talking about all the cops involved for the stop, before what resulted. If you had took the time to see who I was quoting you wouldn’t have to make such an assumption from my post!

You need to read your own source...

Already read it. You're really not having a good day with English. The US didn't lose 7057 soldiers in Afghanistan.

I agree, you are the best, I am your biggest fan.

The real number..."There were 2,456 United States military deaths in the War in Afghanistan. 1,932 of these deaths were the result of hostile action. 20,752 American servicemembers were also wounded in action during the war."

On this article it's a few lower at 2448.

Taking precautions is one thing and perfectly acceptable, they just seemed like they were looking to go full alpha from the get go.

Yeah but I’m not talking about that, if the guy did have a criminal record more cops would be involved in the stop in some cases, the events after was not what I was talking about.

US police are just a law unto themselves, that was awful to watch, sure i remember no time ago that man that died when the cop stood on his neck, guess not much has been done to improve things

Change takes time. Where a culture is deeply ingrained it can take decades unless it is swamped.

No need to get pissy just because you're constantly wrong.
I am not ******, I adore you, I love you. Come here already!

If we are being pedantic on the SPECIFIC of the meaning of the word and not the intention, how did you get an impression of pissy from "You are the best. I am your biggest fan?"??

Huh? Please explain? :confused::cry:

Oh, so you CAN read between the lines.

I do love you though! Big Love! :D

I am actually pretty calm and just finding your pedantry more dull than anything. On a slight tangent, I've been trying Cunningham's Law online and just let the internet do its thing, which is why I don't even disagree with you but agreeing.

My mind went to the same place...

Cops top. Freaking fast food workers way up there!

Edit: in fact it's all generally low paid jobs that are getting screwed over by violence in the states.

I once crashed my car and had 4-5 police vehicles turn up. They were all perfectly pleasant, I even had a lift back by a couple and had a bit of a laugh with them. They took the mick and told me they did similar when they were younger.

I also got pulled over when younger for “going to fast around a corner” I wasn’t because you’d crash if you did. The cop told me I had a violent when drunk marker against me!? Again they were perfectly pleasant and no kind of rough house tactics at all.

We haven’t seen everything but the only good to come from this should be an example to future police officers about exactly how not to do your job. I’ll say it again inspite of the wrath of the gd groupies, they look like wrong’uns no remorse shown in the slightest, I bet this isn’t their first complaints or reprimands, they shouldn’t have been police officers in the first place. Just another statistic, another Mother grieving, won’t be the last though.

Correcting you when you've got numbers completely wrong isn't pedantry. It shows your whole argument is based on an incorrect assertion.
