Ubisoft FarCry 5 'are you ready' thread just shown up....

So about the ending...

Looking at various theories it seems that Joseph set off the nukes himself as there were three bunkers for each Seed(and three nukes) But listening to radio chatter near the end it seemed like the world was in a pretty dark place and Seed just knew what was going to happen?

I've just battled John Seed and won. Yay.

However, after that and jumping back into the game, there are no 'Story Missions' in my journal? I don't know what I'm supposed to do next?

Anyone? I've just fired the game up and had a run around again and still no story missions appearing in my journal. Is there somewhere I need to go to get them to kick back in again?

Loved the intro. One of the best of the series. Good to be in a fresh location after 3 & 4 too.

Feels strange to be back to just some light weaponry again after having the Buzzsaw at the end of FC4.

I`m still not sure. I`m a bit 50/50. Only a few of hours in and I`m making my way down the map to John Seed. I've experienced the strange spawning issue where at one place I made it safe and it was fine for 3/4 visits then I went to get a vehicle and suddenly this flame thrower guy appeared behind me and toasted me and my new ride.

The AI seems to wander around a lot more often going through trees/forest area I bump into a couple of AI just wandering about. I have found you can create complete carnage on the roads like I could on Just Cause 3. Few times I've took out a prisoner then a petrol truck came by, then another prison van, then a few locals got caught up in the wreckage and before long I've got a scene of about 6-8 vehicles. If you create some kind of twisted roadblock the scripted vehicles that use the roads frequently soon begin to mount up.

Also I've found that the prisoners you liberate are often left tied up unguarded next to the vehicle, no sign of the AI guards because they have wandered off or got distracted by an animal.

Just getting there was sheer hell as I was walking, and following a road (I didn't know this was a bad idea at launch) and it was just infinite enemies and vehicles being thrown my way. I reached the yard with no ammo and had a headache taking over my first outpost.

Surely this is a bad strategy in any survival type game. Stick to the tree line. I learnt that quickly and the hard way many times when playing DayZ back in the day.

or eaten by an animal :)

It is all a bit crazy with the high spawn rate, but I like it.

A big pro for me is that the 'bad guys' don't stand out as much in this game. FC3 & 4 they had bright clothing on that made them far too easy to spot.

Actually, the biggest pro is being able to instantly loot enemies without having to constantly pat them down. Man that was irritating.

Absolutely loving this. The game is stunning. Blows 4 out of the water (and most of the others). Pleasantly surprised.
I'd reserve that judgement until you've actually finished the game :D 4 is on a different level in many ways compared to 5.

It really doesn't matter how you handle it strategically - you're in for an insane spawn wherever you go and the enemy AI is thick AF. It is frustrating at first but towards endgame when this all changes you'll be welcoming such a feature. Apparently the developers designed the mechanics of having a lot of action/events a certain radius around the player.

Myself and virtually the entire playerbase have been long awaiting an NG+ feature or an option to reset the insane spawn again just to experience some chaos post game completion.

It can't possibly be worse than 4 in terms of story? That ending was massively underwhelming.
I've got no issues with both games in terms of story and their endings. Having said that I'd prefer 4 in every way - I thought the baddie was more charasmatic, yet unpredictable and it was welcoming seeing him actually in the game at many points. Won't say anymore though obviously.

what do you think aboute this game? I play: farcry 4 and farcry primal and it was very nice game but... you recomande buy farcry 5?
5 is quite different from the previous FarCry's, but it is still a good, if very short game when put alongside them. It still needs a lot of updating and we haven't really had much feedback from Ubisoft. Having said that, they have recently sent out a very detailed survey for gamers feedback.

If you are looking for a game where you can explore a large landscape, well you can here but you will be constantly hounded by an insane cult spawn wherever you go at the start.

There is no XP anymore. Instead you've got Skill Perks, and you earn perk points by doing daft 'Challenges' like 'Kill x amount of enemies from above' or 'punch a bull to death'. It isn't as freeform as the previous titles.

I could go on but I'd be repeating what I've said on this thread before.

If you can get it for say £30 then go for it, but I wouldn't pay £40+.

Like most recent Far Cry games I played it for an hour or so to get a feel for it and quickly got bored, story seems a bit silly to me.

Maybe I'm just getting old but I haven't got time for these games anymore, not unless they're really exceptional which this is not.

For what it's worth my view is the story is better in FC3 > FC5 > FC4. Gameplay wise FC4 > FC3 > FC5. I haven't played Primal. It's worth playing, but to echo Kainz comment not for anything over £30.

Primal was very short and with quite basic gameplay. It was fun and a little different, but in the end I found myself trying to complete it as quickly as possible.
