Really? Apart from the goal I forgot he was playing in the 2nd half. Carroll actually made a couple of good defensive headers, and with his foul for the 2nd goal, made it more interesting.

Didn't Carroll give away the free kick they scored from as well with that reckless tackle? Can't be doing that.
Young was poor though as well, but he generally does well for England. I don't think he really knew what his role was, seemed confused.
We'll be better at keeping the ball with Rooney back as he'll drop into midfield. I imagine Welbeck will start with him (unless Rooney is up top by himself).
How? Ukraine would be on 6 points and England on 4.
I thought Hodgson was going to be intelligent and insightful 
Terrible choice of archaic system and tactics, why does any manager ever use it? at best we get a shambolic, just scraped through win like tonight. Now we'll have to suffer while a bunch of cretins tell us that it works for England, the win is all that matters and we're doing just fine

Inspired sub by Roy and for starting Carroll. Agree after he scored the crosses stopped! They were whipping in some goods one, he scores that is it don't bother any more.
Young has been to quiet, I was hoping him being out there he would whip some in as well but don't remember he doing any?
The decent thing about Carroll is he is a good outlet he can hold it up and he can play others in which he did well when given the chance.
As Shearer said though we made that extremely difficult and we can not play like that again that was far to close against a very ordinary team!

Yeah the trouble is only Gerrard is capable of delivering decent balls so any strength Carroll brings is neutered. Its not like Walcott, Downing or Young can deliver him anything.

I can't see France losing to Sweden, so as runners up of our group we'll play the winners of group C, i.e. Spain.
I think we'll just end up being embarrassed against Spain or Germany though, should we face them. I know Chelsea proved you can defend and win but England just won't manage that.
They're just so, so strong and we seem to fit in more with the likes of Poland and Sweden than any of the 'big' teams.

Downing is a good crosser he's just had an awful season but look at RVP and Huntelaar they were about as in form as you can be before the tournament xD
I think he'l start young and milner as widemen with wellbeck and rooney upfront.

which means England have nothing to play for, as they are going home soon anyway as England will NOT beat Spain.
I desperately need England to win the group for 3 reasons.
1. We will most likely get Spain if we come second
2. I have them as group winners in an accumulator with Russia, Germany and Spain
3. The big one- I am supposed to be working on Saturday night, and have already had two nights off work for the football which my boss was not happy about.
