you think a totally flat 4 4 2, with no movement and players standing far apart from each other isn't a cliché? it's something that belongs to club football of decades ago, yet England keep reverting to it, and keep getting punished for it.

The thing is in the end it worked. He doesn't have much choice tbh with the players he has. Just because he uses the same formation doesn't mean it's the same tactics, there's other factors involved. Like I said Capello would have chucked Downing on instead of Walcott and just played the game out.

I think the next game he has to start Walcott and play Welbeck with Rooney. I could see Downing/ Chamberlain/ Milner coming in for Young. Either way the biggest changes Hodgeson has to think about is the wings. Walcott was immense when he came on, he's quality and I'm glad he got his chance to come back.

My point was it's worse when England play especially if they win, It was bad the other night too when England played.

You're obviously English, and yet you actively seek out a football forum during the Euros and say that you want your National side to lose and exit the tournament. If you're a football fan, and I'm assuming you are considering you actively sought out the football forum and decided to post, then why would you want your National side to lose?

I just don't understand this attitude.
 
I dunno Johnson did alright, he got away with a few slip ups and had a good performance overall. But with Kyle Walker fit he wouldn't get a sniff. It's a shame he got so many injuries. But it's all about strength and depth. Then a bit of luck. Man I just hope we finish top and don't have to play Spain!
