Why are you hung up on penalties. On any other day they would have scored. Rashford is a very good penalty taker as is Sancho. Just that night it wasn't theirs. I see no problem with the selection. I was more surprised with Maguire taking one than anything else.
It's the 90 odd minutes of rubbish 5 at the back football that was the problem that caused us to lose not the penalty takers.

It was a better match than the Copa America final which was a horribly disjointed match with constant fouls (41 in total I believe).
People like you are complete helmets tbh. I've no idea why you would even watch the national side with that kind of attitude.
Bang average but took the best team in the tournament to pens, their goal was one any team could concede bouncing around the box off a corner.
Penalties is a lottery, I'm not hung up on the takers apart from Saka going 5th. The game could have easily been wrapped up before hand agreed.
Anyone who knows the slightest thing about football, including the opposition, knows we could have won.

no he's right. We're not as good as people say we are. Definitely tactically and possibly individually. It's rare to get a squad of 100% worldies though. It's about getting the best out of your side. And the tactics did not achieve that. If we go to another tournament with Southgate I hope he gets exposed too.

He's not saying I hope we lose. He's saying I hope southgate's tactical folly is properly exposed so we can get a manager who can get the best out of our squad while there's still time for them to achieve something.

I agree, but that was Southgates gameplan. But to say if we went for it we would get smashed is just rubbish. We have the players more than capable but we will never no unfortunately.

Say what you want about Southgate but his record is pretty consistent and on an upward trajectory. You don’t do what England just did by accident or through luck.

People can't seem to separate results and performance. 2nd in the Euros if you have an average squad is great, 2nd in the Euros when you have the strongest squad is not so great.

Exactly when Qatar comes around TTA will hopefully be fit. Dean Henderson will be recognised number 1 (Pickford had a good tournament to be fair), Rashford will be fit, Greenwood will become the player we think he can be. Their is a lot to look forward too but it is a worry if we continue to play this relegation team type football. Especially with the squad he will have by then.
