Yes but club football is far more civilized than international. Especially Leicester City. My father only took me once to old Wembley and said never again. Yet took me plenty of times to WHL as a kid and was completely different. After seeing what happened to London in the summer we were no different.
I've just read on twitter that UEFA gave Hungary a stadium ban but as this is a WC qualifier (FIFA, not UEFA), the ban doesn't apply. I know FIFA and UEFA are rivals but surely they should be working together on things like this.
While it's unacceptable the abuse the players got last night we are hardly whiter than white in that regard, fans constantly boo the national anthems of other countries, we've had fans booing at players taking the knee and we also have racial abuse from the stands at black players. Hell look at the abuse the players took after the penalties in the Euro final.
So we don't have a problem with the behaviour of our fans and it's all them bloody foreigners bringing the reputation of our football fans down? You can't ban a team from having fans because of a few idiots but if those few idiots are half the stadium or a few thousand then its a serious issue that can't be dealt with by targeting the people involved. You have to make it so that the fans have two choices, never watch their team again in person or as a nation and as fans they put a stop to racist chanting and deal with it properly. Perhaps opposition teams just need to refuse to play against them away from home.
Booing a national anthem or booing players making a gesture that you don't agree with is not the same as racist chanting either. You may not agree with them but they are fundamentally different to racist chanting. The abuse that the black players received after the finals was from an utterly tiny proportion of people in this country and was absolutely swamped by an outpouring of support for them. A few bad eggs that can be dealt with, a whole batch needs binning.

There is a massive issue with football fans and to say it's only a few is massively papering over the issue, look at the arrests when Man U and Leeds played, look at the fans storming Wembley and then look at the behaviour of cricket, tennis and rugby fans over the summer and tell me there isn't a problem.
Football brings out the worst in people and anyone who says different is ignoring that, I agree we are nowhere near what it used to be as I remember everytime I went to a match in the 80s it was like running a gauntlet (even as a kid) but there is still underlying issues and it doesn't take a lot for them to bubble to the surface, lets concentrate our efforts keeping our own house in order before lambasting other nations, people in glass houses and all that.
