Yes Crimeea had the "right" to be invaded by a foreign army, organise a referum under its close watch and then present fake results which show massive support for the annexation of the region by the army's country. Makes perfect sense!

An army that didn't have to move in this "invasion" you talk of, do you honestly think the ethnicly Russian Ukrainians weren't scared out of membership of the Ukraine state by the fascist murderers who obviously hate them?
They did move out of their military base and crossed international borders, it was a textbook invasion, what are you smoking? There was no violence targetted at Russians in Ukraine, quite the contrary, the Ukrainian Maidan protestors were murdered.

So basically the army attacked a building where the police were holed up, the local residents attempted to mob the army to save the police (it worked well last time they tried it, the army even surrendered it's APCs) and the army fired on the civilians.
Personally speaking I don't really see how civilians can attempt to intervene in a military battle and still play their "civilian card".
Exactly! Pro russians attacked the ukranians while being protected by the corrupt police then saw that they bit more than they could chew and ran for cover which was hen set on fire.

Indeed the Police did give them COVER and allow ARMED provocateurs to FIRE upon the Pro-Ukrainians, making the police accountable, which Kiev has already stated. It Didn't take long for the corrupt Pro-Russian Police (Pro-Russian = More bribes) to run away when things got out of control. This is exactly what they needed to happen to help spin the lie about Right Sektor Boogie men have taken over the Ukraine and are coming to get you.

I seem to recall crying of (Daily star Headlines) 'Massacre of UNARMED & PEACEFUL civilians' type of spin early on in this thread when it was way to early to come to any conclusion of what happened at all.

that was always Putin's bag, harking back to the USSR good times when Russia went everywhere with size 9s and kicked down any unopen doors. Its kind of convulsions of end of empire, with backfires buzzing scotland and this sort of nonsense on their doorstep. We went through it too, with events like Suez, where it took a while to realise we were no longer the all powerful British Empire.
Putin is just learning the lesson faster because instead of bombs and bullets, theyre being battered through the economy. No ex-empire likes to fade away without a struggle but at some point theyre going to have face reality. Hopefully before they kick off WWIII.

Exactly. Instead of creating an industry, an infrastructure, a long term plan for when oil/gas run out, Putin grabs land, even if Russia has more of it than any country on Earth. Instead of going forward, the country is going backwards and any progress made in the last 25 years is slowly being erased.
There won't be a WWIII, Russia has no allies, no foreign policy other than to bully its neighbours and you can't win wars by throwing human bodies at the front, not anymore. In the end, it won't be Ukrainians, Georgians or Moldovans who will suffer the most, it will be Russians.
