So you’ll agree that the UK leaving such a ‘limited’ organisation and in so doing caused huge disruption and economic losses was probably a bit silly.
Ukraine will be looking to join for the same reasons other countries have. For absolute starters investment in their infrastructure.
Sure the wealthier members bankroll that but when those poorer members get wealthier all the countries in the block also get richer too via the increased trade. That trading will be done with favourable conditions with pretty much every country on Earth thanks to the EUs agreements that it can negotiate due to its size. It’s nice and reciprocal. Eventually they’ll be net contributors too.
No the UK is better off out as we keep seeing - vaccines etc..
I dont see any immediate benefit to Ukraine but I suspect despite all the platitudes it will be years if at all that Ukraine is let in.
UK could have got those vaccines , that quickly , inside the EU....
What have vaccines got to do with it? Some countries in the EU went with a joint venture to procure them and yes they had delays getting it sorted to start with. But no country was forced to do that, they were all free to source their own regardless.
EU rollout overtook the UKs quite a while ago too.
But you're right it would be years before they were officially allowed in. There's lots of things that would need sorting. But hopefully they can start accessing some of the benefits early in order to kick start their recovery. Will be up to the EU to figure out the best way there.

Just can't see it happening. Even with a successful Eastern campaign done relatively quickly taking the rest of the country would be an absolute nightmare. If they take the Donbass and manage to take crucial southern territory they'll likely dig in and push for 'peace'.

Interesting that Rheinmetall have announced they are sending 50 used Leopard I's, before this war started I would have said why would any Ukrainian Tanker want to go into battle in a tank that old against Russian armour but having seen the performance of the Russian armour I suspect the old Leopard I can easily hold it's own against them.

So Russia are copying the Ukranian numbers update to demoralise by informing Ukrainians are loosing requirement too.
My favourite bit is "The unconstructive position of opponents".. If it wasn't for those pesky people opposing Putin's plan for world domination..
So basically the Kremlin leaked that Austria went cap in hand to Putin because it makes good PR but the Austrians wanted a closed meeting. It looks like the Austrian chancellor got the the Putin treatment as he tries to maximise the PR for exploiting cracks in the EU political system.
The FIA is investigating, but I can't see him continuing regardless of what they say. He's poison to sponsors now.
It looks like his team, Ward Racing, have condemned his actions and terminated his contract
