Remind me of what I accused you, cause I feel like this is first time I see you.. :p

Since when I was homophobic? I hold the view that Russian homophobia situation is total fad made by Putin to move away general populations opinion from internal issues.

I am pretty sure I have expressed this view here somewhere...

By no means I am homophobic, I just dont care, had a good laugh at few marches here in Chicago... very interesting indeed, not at one point I had "hate gays" feeling.

By no means I am Anti-American, I live here... :D:D by choice. I just do not agree with US foreign policy along-side millions of Americans.

At the same time I admire their ability to bend the whole world over to follow their rules... I dont think its right, doesnt stop me from admiring their ability to do so.

In contrast Scorza seems to be a British "patriot", morally crusading to "protect" British "values". Whether that is taking a stance against Russia, against Muslims, or against other immigrants changing British "culture" or other countries/organisations that disagree with British foreign policy...

If you disagree with him then you are one of "them", rather than someone with their own opinion...

Unthinkable deal a few years ago may happen. Usually foreign investors just buy a stake in a company (bp deal for example) and help develop the fields, not own them straight up and more than 50% is more than the current law allows.

Russia may consider allowing Chinese investors more than 50 percent stakes in its strategic oil and gas fields, an official said on Friday, an about-face by Moscow that underlines its need for foreign help to develop energy reserves.

Still peanuts compared to what atrocities commies commited in the name of their sick ideology. Stalin himself had millions of own people murdered. Get this into your empty skull comrade and **** off.

Not really sure why you are bringing Great Britians history into this as a means of justification, this is afterall a Russia/Ukraine issue/topic.

Show me a large, powerful nation that never killed or oppressed anyone and I will show you a poor researcher. Sadly, tragically, the dark side of human nature is indelible and there will always be atrocities committed by those in power: whether that power is through control of the state or control of a firearm.

I totally agree.

The only reason I mentioned this, is because we talk about Stalin as this monster (which he is) The Empire alone, without US was no better... Yet we speak from moral high ground for some reason

You can read above for my take on the situation in the world, where Russians just fail to understand why are they getting shamed for trying to do what we have been doing for as long as we remember.

You also have to remember that due to the nature of Soviet Union, after Stalins death, he was blamed for a lot of things by the "Party" to remove this "ideal image" due to this, a lot of things were blown out of proportion.

Modern Russia also likes to exhadurate how bad things were in Soviet Union in an attempt to justify the new regime, since pro-soviet movement is still rather strong.

We on other hand, have been caught red handed essentially burning and burying reports of the atrocities commited by the Empire.

Am I supposed to feel guilty about things that happened before my birth and that nor me or my family has had influence over?

You do realize we are not talking 1700`s here??

As recent as 1940-1970`s.

And no you shouldnt, and neither should the Russians, and neither should we blame them since at the time, we were no better.

Cause there has been countless amount of times the "Stalin" boo boo doll been thrown around, yet it seems atrocities commited by the Empire and USA are never mentioned as if they never existed.

The Empire has done a lot of bad things, as has the US (wiping out the Indians, for example) but, unlike Russia, the West has actually learned from some of its mistakes. Issues such as land grabs or annexations are unthinkable in the West, can you honestly imagine a scenario in which Germany occupies Alsace-Lorraine and annexes that region? The past is the past, we learned from it and even if we still make mistakes, there have been major, undeniable improvements.

Can you say that for today's Russia, which takes over foreign territories and in which members of the opposition routinely get killed, sent to prison or into exile?

The whataboutism you keep repeating like a broken record has no bearing on the subject at hand. What the West did wrong in the past or it does wrong now has no bearing on the dangerous social and political regression that's happening in Russia.

The mistakes made in Iraq, in example, were subject to a free, democractic vote. no one forced the members of the Parliament to vote in the manner in which they did, where as in Russia different views often imply lower life expectancy. There's no moral equivalence between the mistakes of the West and the abhorrent current behaviour of Russia, particularly when you consider thier latest aggression is against the closest thing they have to a sibling, among other nations.

In response to that, all I'll say is that I was fortunate enough to be born in Britain - it wasn't my choice, it wasn't the best possible outcome, but it was far from the worst. All my arguments are aimed at either a) improving the quality of living we enjoy in this country or b) giving people in other countries (Ukraine in this thread) the chance to improve their own quality of living.

By forcing our own version of how people should live on them.

Just because we were lucky enough to be born in the UK does not mean we have to agree with foreign policy that is at times solely in the interests of us, rather than the people being "helped". Unfortunately much of it is short sighted in recent times, helping countries like Russia (and ISIS) gain influence.

People can disagree with foreign policy (or pseudo policy from forumites) without being pro "Russian", "Islamists" or anti UK. The suggestion of everyone who is critical of UK foreign policy being some kind of (paid) shill is farcical, yet a great way of trying to put down debate...

Ukraine: we want to join EU
Russia: you can't, you're in our sphere of influence.

Who is forcing their own version of how people should live here?

Who has suggested that? Not me for sure. People like mmj_uk & TheStigGT90 are merely useful idiots, Arek is in a slightly different category.

Yes yes...

What we did in Libya (recent) is miles worse than what is happening in Ukraine with Russia.

I suggest you have a read of UN reports on Libya, its a total poo show.

For some reason (backed by UN reports) Western oil companies are managing to export Oil from Libya without neither paying for taxes or fees for the wells.... I wonder how and why...

While Russia takes over foreign territories (Crimea) you can easily say that people are happy there with it. Can you say same for Libya,Iraq,Afghanistan,Syria.

There's loads of them on here. They're given free reign.

do you get paid to be a KGB mouthpiece?

Yep, they get paid for praising Putin and for advocating his pathetic war in Ukraine. One of those "troll factories" is in Saint Petersburg.

) giving people in other countries (Ukraine in this thread) the chance to improve their own quality of living.

Just as with Libya and Syria then?

Much help, So success... These countries doing super well.

I hope you do realise that the only reason why ISIS even exists is because we screwed over too much.

If there was no turmoil in Libya,Syria,Iraq. ISIS would not exist. simple as.

This is a good presentation for those of you still believing the "Putin is the new Hitler, Russia are hellbent on world conquest" tripe.

I suggest we start banning anyone who disputes UK/US foreign policy under the "Pro-Hitler (Putin)" argument.

Permaban, in order to secure democracy on this forum.

There is more than enough proof that these Putin Fan-bois on these forums, get paid directly by KGB to post this un-truthful pro-putin propaganda.

Me including.

More whataboutism and deflecting. I don't think the families of the 6000 dead Ukrainians and Russians are happy about what's happening but you can carry on with your delusions. Unlike the Russians (and now, quite a few Ukrainians) you live in a free country.

As for certain Muslim countries, they've been at each other's throats for hundreds of years and it doesn't look like it's going to stop, with or without Western interventions. Feel free to blame the West while you enjoy the luxury, prosperity and freedom it provides you and your family.

Apparent reason to why we only have one CCTV feed of the killing from another area of the city and none from the main bridge near the kremlin

Police investigating the murder of Boris Nemtsov are unable to identify the killer because security cameras that could have recorded the attack had been turned off for maintenance, it has emerged. Mr Nemtsov, a vociferous public critic of Vladimir Putin, was gunned down on Friday night in what appears to have been a highly professional assassination.

Cameras overlooking the murder scene on the Bolshoi Moskvoretsky bridge could have provided crucial evidence including identifying the killer and the getaway vehicle, as well as further details of how the attack was planned. But Moscow’s Kommersant newspaper reported on Monday that key cameras on the bridge, in a heavily policed area of Moscow just outside the Kremlin, had been switched off for “repair work” on the night of the killing.

later same newspaper has posted

All cameras urban surveillance system on the night of 27 February 28, in good working order, all of the materials available to the investigating authorities, any work on the equipment at this time was not spent" - leads the "RIA Novosti" According to the press service.

The department stressed that the cameras are installed in the Kremlin and federal agencies' access to the picture is only for them. "
They just aren't releasing them, only the side view that doesn't show the kill due to the bin lorry.
