You are placing a huge amount of weight on that clip of Biden from weeks before the full scale invasion. Certainly took his time if his plan was to blow it up.... Interpreting it as a statement of intent to blow the pipeline up ignores the many diplomatic levers available to prevent it being used.

It makes no sense for the US to destroy it at this point, it would completely trash trust between Europe and US if they ever found out, and it doesn't even really do much harm to Russia as it wasn't in use, and likelihood of it being in use in the near future seems low.

Much more likely to have been Russia as a continuation of their threats, wanting to demonstrate they can attack other underwater pipelines or cables, and can go further in cutting off energy supplies.

I'm also not clear on how destroying it would be 'prodding' Russia given they were actually the ones that had shut it down already in an attempt to pressure Germany etc.

Overthrowing an elected goverment that was elected in a highly suspicious election that was condemned by most western electoral oversight organisations.

And even if what you are saying is true - I dont recall Ukraine invading any other countries. Nor do I recall them taking actions which have had world wide impacts due to the delusions of one man...

Lets tank the pound and give billions away.
Lets self harm our country.

I swear the phrase "I do my own research" in this day and age is synonymous for "I have formed my own opinion and no amount of factual evidence will change that" :D

If you seriously think that Ukranians as a whole wanted closer ties to Russia with a President in power who had no popular support to do it, you know nothing about Ukrainians or it's history.

Yes % of people in the East would have been more pro Russian but the vast majority in those areas didn't want anything closer and wanted Ukraine to remain Ukraine. They sure as hell don't want anything to do with Russia now though, those that are left alive that is.

If we let Russia Take Ukraine, they will not stop there.. SO where do you want to draw the line? Germany? France? Finland? Sweden?

The pound tanked because of the moronic policies and attitudes on display from No10 and No11 Downing street, it has NOTHING to do with Ukraine.

You need to stop "sucking up" to Putin and those who would commit warcrimes against a civilian population for the greed and ego of Putin.

Indeed. The Ukrainian people rose up against an suspiciously elected pro-russia president, hell bent on selling it's ass to Putin.

Yanukovych would have had Ukraine as at least a new Belarus by now.
