Still ignoring the elected government got overthrown which led to that. From the Euromaidan protests.
If they wanted change do it at the ballot box
Seems to me Ukrainians are gloriously happy with the goverment they have now rather than the fake elected one they had previously. An honest election in Russia would see Putin and his cronies ousted but they can't hold an honest election. Opposition politicians are murdered or imprisoned. You're living on another planet if you believe otherwise.

If we let Russia Take Ukraine, they will not stop there.. SO where do you want to draw the line? Germany? France? Finland? Sweden?
Russia doesn't want to take ukraine, people living in east ukraine vote to be part of Russia. So no need to draw a line since Russia is not interested in territorial expansion.

Well the pro Russian Ukrainians didn't have a voice did they because their elected government was turfed out !

Look at the last but 1 map on this link. Even in 2014 the eastern provinces didn't want reunification with Russia. So the idea that this all happened because they wanted it to is just plain wrong.

The government was overthrown when his election promise of moving closer to the EU was reversed and instead he pledged to move closer to Russia. The people didn't vote for that and they made their feelings known. There have been elections since and they didn't elect pro Russian candidates.

Seriously being a shill for Putin sucks dude.

Don't have a very good understanding of how democracy works, do you?

International observers generally recognise the election of Yanukovich as having been free and fair. He wasn't fake elected, but he was deeply deeply corrupt and when he completely reversed his policy on Europe there was mass protests that he initially tried to violently suppress before being removed as President through an impeachment vote carried out by the elected members of parliament.

11:06:12 - GERMAN FOREIGN MINISTRY SPOKESPERSON: BUILDING HOUSING GERMAN CONSULATE IN KYIV WAS HIT BY RUSSIAN STRIKES

sityeuropa i suggest you just ignore the thread.
Very few people are "calm" enough to actually discuss anything and there's very little knowledge bar a few people, its mostly arm chair generals. Not that you should expect any more from a general forum.

Its not a case of armchair generals. Its a case of an aggressor on the borders of the eastern EU and NATO invading a sovereign nation and attempting to make it part of Russia. So controlling the HUGE food supply that country generates and future energy supplies. You think its bad now Putin holding Europe to ransom over energy? Just wait until he can also do it with food as well. You either take a stand now or live under Russia's boot, that is the choice.

I think he's had some quite good responses that engaged well with what he's said tbh.

Just as I expected, Putin pretty much confirmed this was a quick one off retaliation for the bridge, and warned he will do it again if there are any more such incidents
