Not so black and white. There are Russian speaking and supporting enclaves in Crimea.

Putin will not be removed and I doubt there will be any war as it is in no-one's interest. I am more worried about BoZo doing something stupid to divert attention from his corrupt Govt.

We still haven't learn from our pass history to move on, to finding peaceful solutions with other countries and the people when you have corrupt governments in power who doesn't want peace like America next will be China!

There's not really anything that can be done about Crimea without some major league hypocrisy. I mean even in a hypothetical situation where Putin has a heart attack and a pro-western leader takes over in Russia, then pulls back all troops from outside their borders and kicks Crimea out of the Russian Federation, that still doesn't help Ukraine. Because in that hypothetical they would still have to annex Crimea again, and with international eyes actually looking this time unlike in the 90s there would almost certainly be UN objection to Ukraine invading if not action to counter it (because if the UN doesn't object/act then its a green light for Serbia to reannex Kosovo).

Thinks the Tories are corrupt while speaking positively about Russia, how much are they paying you Comrade?
 
It can't be that bad if the biggest news story is the PM may have had a Christmas party last year, when everyone else was pretending not to have Christmas parties.

Russia has been invading Ukraine for years. Russian troops go home in bodybags and the families are told to keep quiet.

There are some huge Pakistan supporting cities in England.

If Pakistan invaded the North East and sat on Bradford would you say this is acceptable?

The difference is that the west still recogises crimea as ukraine

America paid a cost in riches and blood. If the aim of Iraq had been to remove Saddam and hand the country back to its people then I think that could have been a worthy cause. Saddam was an evil **** who used WMDs on his own people and started 2 wars, admittedly one with US and UK help. Sadly that wasn't the idea or if it was it got corrupted.

While you have people like Putin in power you aren't going to find peaceful solution that doesn't involve throwing a countries population under the bus. If Putin really wants Ukraine no amount of talking to him nicely is going to stop him and I don't think we should just throw the Ukrainian people under the bus.

There are Russian speaker there because Stalin starved Ukraine, the Nazis killed lots more and Stalin sent Russians there to repopulate it. Doesn't make it Russian territory.

All the British expats in spain, let's declare war and take them back into the fold.

You want land? encourage your citizens to retire there, wait 50 years and go in claiming it's my land now

Yeah but pointing it out is essentially giving a justification for it, otherwise why would you do it? There are obvious examples as to why you can't just invade territory because people there speak your language. The reason Russia invaded Crimea wasn't because people there speak Russian, it was because it's strategically important for them to have control of that port, but Russia isn't entitled to have a port in the Black Sea on territory that's actually within Ukraine, they're illegally occupying it.
