German Defence Minister: ~from around 1h ago
- Germany Will Not Stop, Will Not Waiver in Ukraine Support
- Priority Number One Is Air Defence
- We Cannot yet Say at What Point There Will Be a Decision on Leopard Tanks
- Wrong to Say That Germany Blocking Leopard Tank Deliveries, Good Reasons for and Against
- Ready to Move Quickly on Leopard Tanks if There Is Agreement With Allies

The F-16 might be a bit too delicate for the current state of Ukraine’s runways and any work to get them up to spec for the F-16 could just be targeted with cruise missiles, something like the F-18 designed for carrier landings might be better.

Though I am sure if Ukraine got F-16s they could get some use out of them.

Surely Putin must wake up and smell the coffee soon with the amount of support coming forwards

Not really, it just gives him what he considers a "See, I told you NATO are coming!!!!!!" PR win to use with his own people (no-one else would believe it), as shown below.

Kremlin:
- Western Tanks for Ukraine Will Change Nothing, Won’t Stop Russia Achieving Goals
- Ukraine Conflict Is Spiralling Upward
- We See Indirect and Sometimes Direct NATO Involvement
- International Community Will Regret ‘Delusion’ That Ukraine Can Succeed on the Battlefield
- To Avoid Escalation, Russia’s Concerns Must Be Listened to
- Ties With U.S. Are at a Historic Low Half-Way Through Biden’s Term
- It Sees No Hope of Improvement in U.S. Ties

To not upset Putin...

On another forum that has Russians on they always mention that the west just want to bleed Russia, not win a quick victory and they don't care how many die.

They are right.

If we wanted to end this quick we would have given them the means to do so, Ben Wallace looked annoyed at the conference, looke like us sending heavy armour did not effect others irrational fear of Putin.

I think the don’t **** off Putin boat sailed along time ago. The countries that have most to lose by this are those most keen to help. I can understand why some might want to bleed Russia, but that can’t go on forever and the longer it goes on the more difficult it becomes to control when it finishes.

Ramstein, Germany -
Polish Defence Minister Blaszczak:
- We Must Do Everything to Support Ukraine So That War Does Not Spill Over Into NATO Countries
- We Discussed Supplying Ukraine with Heavy Tanks, We Want to Form Coalition
- No Decision on Tanks Was Made
- I Am Convinced That Building a Coalition on Leopard Tanks Will End in Success

So they still haven’t decided on tanks? This would nearly be over by now if Ukraine had been trained and given what they needed I.e. mainly more planes and tanks.

Of course as others have stated this isn’t in US interests and instead they’re just using it to grind they’re enemies down at the expense of Ukrainian lives. The west is better than Putin, but not by much and not as much as we could be.
