(Bloomberg) -- The Biden administration will send Ukraine 31 M1 Abrams tanks in a deal valued at $400 million, two officials familiar with the matter said.

Germany’s Scholz:
- We Intend to Build on What We Have Supplied to Ukraine With Air Defence and Other Weapons
- Cannot Say How Much Delivering Leopard 2 Battle Tanks for Ukraine Will Cost but Germany Will Bear the Costs
- We See a Responsibility Here in Terms of Maintenance
- On Possibility of EU Reimbursement for Tanks: There Are Clear Rules, Open to All Including Germany

I know we are not his target audience but its genuinely funny the crap that Russia comes out with in regards to their invasion of Ukraine. I mean, how the frip can you "pre-plan" a war against someone when they are the ones that started it. Most countries have tried to stay as distanced from it as they can for as long as they can as well. No one wants this war apart from Putin. Well, he didn't want a war either, he wanted another Crimea.

Even if some of what he says is true/correct/i agree with, i just cannot stand him as a person or how he comes across.

He is such an arrogant, condensing ****, who thinks himself far more intelligent than he is.

There is always a sprinkling of truth in such videos, its how they appeal to so many, if that bit is true why can't all of what they say be true. Its a tactic as old as the hills.

Not a bad start, lets hope they build up those numbers.

Such a strange argument coming from Germany about keeping enough tanks in reserve to defend Germany. Who, other than the Russian army currently engaged in Ukraine do they think are going to attack them? Belgium?

Surely, the best defence for Germany (at least as far as a land war is concerned) is to keep the fighting as far away from your borders as possible - by fully supporting an ally.

How long before France announces they're sending Leclerc tanks. If anything, from a future arms manufacturing and sales perspective - they'd be foolish to miss out.

It'd be somewhat ridiculous for any government to just give away their ability to defend their citizens even if it seems like there's no other tangible threat the possibility remains and they'd be skewered for it.

I dunno, the German’s have Von Schlieffen’d their way through Belgium with reckless abandon numerous times before in past, perhaps at last hapless little Belgium has a chance for revenge?

The only issue with tanks (and basically any vehicle) is that they are drone/personal AT fodder. Now double that with the lack of training. There must be a loss rate for Ukraine to request more.

I agree - send them. However Russia is playing the play with minimal investment strategy.. ie throw bodies of slaves at the problem rather than tanks.. the unforunate way to tackle that issue is to sit there mowing Russians down in the field in a very WW1/WW2 way.

Poland as a training ground is good.. it makes Belarus think twice..

DOnt think the Russians are carrying anything that would prove that big an issue for the tanks being sent, mostly not for the challengers that have shown their grit in the field.

I wonder if sending them by threes and having the Russains fire a bunch of RPGs at the challengers just keep on going be enough to have them move back lol.
