My response was in return to a racial question, namely if the west should bring pressure to bear on India for her lack of support of Ukraine.

Putin doesn't just want Ukraine, he wants so, so much more. Whether he can get what he wants is a totally different story but if he had the means to take it, he would be sending his army far west of Ukraine
Watch this to get an idea; Russians (and especially Putin) believe in a 300 year old myth and this myth says Russians are the heir to the Greek and Roman empires and Putin wants his empire

Indians are citizens of India or from the Indian diaspora.
There is no such thing as the Indian race, there is more racial diversity in India then Europe.
In the North West you have people with dna from the eurasian steppes, the far east people with Chinese features, far south aboriginal features. And all in between.
Then there neighbour Pakistan has a lot of diversity too. No single race there either although less diversity compared to India due to the latter's sheer size.

This is not off topic, and Chris Wilson doesn't hate Indians. Someone asked, quite appropriately for the subject of this discussion about Ukraine versus Russia, if the west should bring pressure to bear on India to come in line with an anti Russian stance. I replied that having a PM and Home Secretary of Indian descent could make that tricky, from the UK's perspective, not that i believe a sovereign nation should be pressurised to do the west's, or anyone else's bidding, (I am sure you'll agree...). Whether I see the PM as truly British is irrelevant, it's whether he is truly 100% into Great Britain in his heart and soul, or if his and his wife's financial ties with India are tugging at his coat tails.
Hell, I'm just a rough arsed mechanic, but I can see how ethnic origin cricket supporters having chosen to come and live here permamently l in the UK show their allegiances when India or Pakistan are playing against England. And those supporters don't have billionaire relatives overseas who undoubtedly hold considerable sway when it suits them.
