There is a certain irony there - the West has never had any desire to attack Russia and doesn't tend to engage in Salami like tactics as Russia might - while Russia has opened the door wide for the West to dismantle them - if it was down to the countries who'd previously been under the USSR/Russia they'd have been gutted by now.

And that includes with the US interfering to ensure that happens? Alright. Good you've got a position down, but I'd rather those tens of thousands of people weren't dead fighting in Ukraine.

The US, whose former President was trying to remove the US from NATO, wanted more countries to join it? Right.

Incorrect, Trump simply wanted NATO countries to pay the minimum amount they agreed to, and for Germany to stop buying Russian oil - actively funding the military the US was paying to defend Germany against, who weren't meeting their defense spending commitment. Surprised you're not mentioning that considering what a ******* fantastic point Trump had and how he was proved correct so spectacularly.

Germany painfully naïve.

I actually don't like Russia at all. I'm just against ******* around in places we have no business ******* around in.

We didn't. And as I said if it's proven we did it was irrelvant because it was going to happen anyway.

Ukraine is our back yard though, it's Europe - they gave up USSR Nuclear weapons when the USSR fell the west virtually said "don't worry we'll look after you". Eastern Europe has been through enough, needs stability and countries deserve a chance to prosper outside the curtain of Russia if they so wish . Putin just wants the USSR restored and to increase his bank balance by stealing even more than he has already. He has no interest in Russians or Russia - his actions have proven that as he's sent hundreds of thousands of teenagers to their deaths in Ukraine.

They clearly wished it, and most recognised they made a huge mistake with the president they originally elected.

We have no business helping Ukraine defend itself?

You believe it would be better for us to not get involved?

He makes excellent chocolate though.

Wrong:

It's fine to support pro-EU rallies/riots and decide who's going to be in charge of Ukraine, a Democracy, because of the *checks notes* Budapest Memorandum.

Sounds like you like them, if Ukraine will collapse then Poland or Baltic states could be next.

Kacaps mentality is still in 1940-1920, so you never know.

No, the Budapest Memorandum means we are obliged to assist the signatory (Ukraine) when they are under threat of Nuclear weapons. Which is exactly what Russia threatened at the beginning of the war last year.

I've told you before all Trump was doing was reiterating US foreign policy that had been said for years, its not like he came up with the idea - since you seem to be implying it was a "******* fantastic point Trump had".

Biden said the same thing when he was VP to Obama. So yea, that's not the plus point for Trump you think it is.

But I'm sure you'll ignore this again and continue to spout your uninformed ******** as usual.

How would that happen? Those are NATO member states and NATO would defeat Russia so decisively in any battle that it wouldn't even be a fair fight, it would be more one sided than Germany defeating France in 1939.

Checks facts ; In 2004 Ukraine amended the constitution with 90% of lawmakers supporting the changes. The President of Ukraine, Yanukovych, reversed the changes in 2010 and further in 2014 (which had diluted some of his power, into the hands of the people, you know actual democracy) once he had made changes to the countries job judges. Seen, by the people of Ukraine and a law breaker, Euromaidan was the end result.

Except Germany vs France in 1939 wasnt one sided at all - thats British propaganda and the narrative the right wing have established.
