I'm....not really sure how to react to this. While I'm in full support of Ukraine killing Russian soldiers/conscripts/etc who have invaded their country and cased untold levels of carnage/crimes, I'm not so sure they should be trying to kill Russian civilians inside Russia, that just doesn't sit well with me.
And I think that's likely to be the reaction among the majority of the public in the west so they really shouldn't be doing it from a PR point of view, considering western support for Ukraine is the reason this war is still going on.
I think because Ukraine are the clear good guys in this war and Russia the clear bad guys it's easy to dismiss/downgrade anything bad Ukraine do because Russia shouldn't even be there. But at the end of the day we shouldn't have been in Iraq, it didn't justify the 7/7 bombings.
Potentially it more likely shores up support for Putin as well unfortunately if Russians feel they are under threat, rather than turn them against him. Though I absolutely think Ukraine should have a free hand and if necessary given the capability to attack targets in Russia which are used against them such as launch sites, etc.
