I bet Netherlands are chomping at the bit after MH-17?

Ive noticed there military very active on the radar all day last few days I dont study this everyday so maybe it just normal though.

It is often fairly active - but nothing like the last few days normally - only seen this kind of level around the pull out from Afghanistan, etc.

I'm wondering what RCH0219 has onboard - maybe coincidence but looks like there has been a ton of military activity around its movement with NATO aircraft out as it approached the English Channel and AWACS, loads of Typhoons and several C-130s that are used for special operations, etc. airborne. Earlier Swedish forces did a sweep of Kaliningrad and the Baltics. A Poseidon went airborne ahead of it as well though they've been doing that a lot the last few days around this time.

Well according to Ubersonic, they have upgraded their BUKs to BUK3M and S-300 to S-400 levels. If that's the case, those are comparable if not better than Patriots (S-400 specifically).

They also outnumber Russia in tanks and their quality as well (According to Ubersonic).
You are like that bitter Ex that just wont let things go:eek:

6 Typhoons and 2 tankers up at the moment
Going by the Dessault Falcons (Spectre31) also up, likely just readiness training. According to the Gov website there are no planned major fast jet exercises due to be happening at the moment though. So i'd hazard a guess that its a reaction to whats happening at the moment.

Dunno if Draken is just doing training or more involved in monitoring, etc. at the moment as they've been up around quite a few movements lately.

Other European countries had rolling air-force assets airborne and/or doing ISR towards areas Russia is likely to be active over the last little while approx. inline with the movement of US Globemasters - maybe coincidence but looks like related.

Got another Typhoon up VENOM021 from Lossiemouth area.

I dont reckon there is any real significance to it. I think it'll just just be ramped up readiness training, to show an enhanced presence, effectively just willy waving to prove a point whilst getting some good training in. I could well be wrong though.

What point?
You are boring me now, you have filled the thread with enough garbage, welcome to my ignore list!

Yeah I dunno - hopefully it is readiness training.

Weird set of coincidences but impossible to say if anything beyond that.

I live near Prestwick an am usually in the flight path of all things airborne. There has been a lot of extra military activity, both on the ground and in the air. It's quite interesting what is going up. The noise is incredible!

Got another C-17 inbound now for Prestwick. Looks like a busy night of moving stuff (or returning from delivering) for some reason - this one is out of Greece.

After the amount of effort Russia has expended getting that much kit and manpower into place, hugely increased maintenance / prep requirements for equipment, training requirements, food/water, fuel expenditure plus all the stuff you'd never see on the news (human intelligence, air and naval asssets, space, planning, internal politics ect.).

There's no way they'll be willing to walk away with nothing. Russia's population appears to largely support their govs position - and the guys at the very top aren't going to suffer that badly if there are economic sanctions, no matter how severe.

I think they'll get eastern Ukraine at a minimum - they have an overwhelming military advantage over the Ukrainian forces, and the cost of stopping them will be to high for the West to want to take on.
