The failure rate of Russian artillery shells produced this year is so high, Russian command doesn't want it stored in ammo depots

They are actually producing a lot more stuff in 2023 than you'd think from this thread and many posts online, they seem to have ramped it up way more than 2022 however at the expense of quality as per your post, many small arms are of dubious quality and can't hold zero, etc. and it would appear production of longer range missiles must be at least 2-3x higher than expected at the end of last year given the activity over the last 3 weeks or so (where fragments have been recovered many seem to be 2023 production).

EDIT: Also some 2022 production AKs have been captured which are already showing signs of rusting out LOL. Some more info on the AK-12 https://twitter.com/RALee85/status/1662989452329852928 as can be seen they are tweaking them for cheaper/easier production but I'm surprised they've not gone further on that already.

The Russians have always put quantity over quality though. The wartime T34 was pretty crap in reality, but it did the job. Why bother when both the weapon, and the soldier issued it only has a very limited life expectancy.

According to Lazerpig, some T34s that reached the front line would have no parascope installed, the crew literally couldn't see where they were going or aiming out without opening the hatch and climbing out. The quality differed massively based on the factory it came from as some factories started finding ways to increase production to meet quota and that meant getting rid of all sorts of components, that's corruption for you. There is even a case of a T34 with no scopes installed and the driver managed to drive right into the Germans before they opened the hatch and realised where they were and there were many cases of T34s driving straight into ditches and rivers

A good read explaining why there will be no "popular uprising" in russia.

"To sum up: the lack of individualism, absence of dichotomy between the authorities and the nation, low trust in the russian society, and the belief in russian ethnic exceptionalism all factor into either apathy or, worse, zealous ethnofascism in the russian population."

link for unrolled version

As ever the Russian sympathisers here were quick to lap up the western tanks damaged/destroyed.

They aren’t so quick to point out that the Russians haven’t released any similar footage since those images were released. Makes you wonder whether there have been any losses since.

By many accounts of people comparing deepstate, ISW maps with maxstar satellite images UKR have yet to reach the bulk of fortifications which are still some 7-10km away. So far it's been advances though minefields and pre-sighted artillery not staggered trenches/dragons teeth also.

Unfortunately some photos showing 3-4 breaching tanks ,Bradley's and other tanks that were spotted via drone, caught by artillery and possibly helicopters.
Also Bradley's getting picked of from helicopters.

They definitely need more close in air defence, seems to be the chink in the offensive up to now.

But we don't know anything on Russian losses unfortunately.

Wall Street journal has an article on the patriot shooting down kinzhals
Cool story, would be fine about any other attack.
But for that particular day we do have a footage how Patriot battery takes two hits.

And no explanation how a PAC-3 missile could even theoretically shoot down a kinzhal. Except large testicles of the defenders and "we didn't have time to panic". I think we still don't have any photos of one shot down.

Cherry on top is production numbers. Ukraine has 3 batteries (?) that spend ammo like there is no tomorrow. Zelensky asked for 50 more, maybe gets 5 in a year. Good luck.

Who cares, as long as Raytheon stock goes up.

Problem now is with AI and photoshop grainy pictures are going to be increasingly able to be produced and dismissed.
You literally now cannot believe what you see with your eyes or hear with your ears.

Those pictures look very odd in some regards.

The only really trustworthy news is going to be Ukraine saying we lost X. Whether they will say that right now I am not so sure.
In weeks or months time we will know the truth.

Jeez sip some more copium comrade.

The hits have now been confirmed as basically unimpactful. There was some low level damage that after review did not affect the performance of the batteries.

Maybe the kinzhal is no where near as good as the Russian propaganda claims, which is likely since just about everything Russia claims is BS.

That reminds me, I need to check my Raytheon stock.
